That is definitely one of the most interesting parts of Vagrant Story's gameplay; the fact that you need to think tactically and
attack specific body parts of enemies.

As a result, the immune system
attacks and destroys
specific parts of the
body, such as the thyroid gland.
So while the antibody may fight the invader, it will also
attack a
specific part of the
body.
For example, the Gauntlets can work in tandem with a Speed Mitama, making your special
attacks markedly quicker, while the Long Bow can be paired with a Deceit Mitama to confuse enemies and poison
specific body parts.
There's a stamina metre that forces you to not just mash
attack and dodge, alongside a relatively cool mechanic that lets you target
specific body parts of an enemy.
The combat is fairly simple, as you use a corresponding face button to
attack a
specific part of the
body and spam it until it wears down enough to grab that
part of their
body and strip off the clothing.
In visceral combat, target
specific body parts and damage them with a combination of vertical and horizontal
attacks before slicing the
part off entirely.
