about two dozen professional writers and editors brainstorming for two full days
about story ideas, writing techniques,
audio and video production, and assignment and deadline management.
The site is a potpourri of useful material:
audio files telling the
story of Snow's investigations; an exhaustive collection of Snow's original writing; a vast library of articles written
about Snow's legacy; annotated maps of London, including Snow's famous map of the Soho outbreak; short biographies of the major figures in Snow's life; excerpts from books that mention him; dozens of photographs, including images of Snow and landmarks in London related to his life; modern - day scientific explanations of the cholera bacteria; and much more.

The Extras The Franco brothers and screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber join Wiseau and Sestero (appearing via telephone) for an
audio commentary, which exists for two main reasons: Wiseau giving the true
story about things that happen in the film and Franco pressing Wiseau for more behind - the - scenes information
about himself and The Room.
Blu - ray Highlight: The
audio commentary with directors / producers Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh is filled with a ton of great information
about making the movie, including the technical aspects of filming the combat sequences, the real
stories that inspired them, and the level of realism that was achieved thanks to the cooperation of the Navy.
Blu - ray Highlight: Instead of the typical
audio commentary, director Marc Forster sits down for a somewhat brief discussion
about the movie, including the challenges of maintaining the
story's authenticity, filming in South Africa, and casting the lead roles.
Japanese cinema expert Donald Richie also offers insightful

Every frequency of
audio is broken down to identify not only speech but surrounding sounds (You can hear an airplane taking off, probably at
about 1000 ft.) Everything is picked apart, examined, broken down and then finally built back up again to create a
story.
The Blu - ray includes an
audio commentary in Farsi with English subtitles from writer / director Asghar Farhadi that discusses locations, shooting the film, the performances, and contains lots of insights
about the
story.
Of course, we learn a lot
about the effects, but we also find info
about cast and performances, shooting on location and dealing with weather, real tornadoes and research,
story and characters, music and
audio design, and a mix of other production topics.
My more detailed thoughts
about the film itself can be found in my original review of the Dolby Digital DVD, but The Haunting provides an unusual case in that more than any other movie I can recall, my enjoyment of the
story stemmed largely from the
audio.
Leading the pack is an
audio commentary by director Ron Howard that is both informative and insightful, while the in - depth making - of featurette covers all of the usual details (casting, production design and costumes) as well as a few behind - the - scenes
stories about the cast regarding their work on the film.
We're afraid, not because we're wrapped up in the
story or the danger that the characters are in, but because Wan and company keep turning the crank on the metaphorical jack - in - the - box, as we hear the eerie music amid the dark environments and we brace ourselves for the sudden appearance of a horrific looking apparition that appears out of nowhere, accompanied by the sound of someone pounding on a piano that sounds to be
about 10 times louder than the rest of the
audio.
It's one of the more enjoyable
audio commentaries I've listened to - even hearing Julie once again tell the
story about how Marshall lives in the California house she lived in while making Poppins.
However, in 2016, director Alexandra Dean and producer Adam Haggiag unearthed four never - before - heard
audio tapes of Lamarr speaking on the record
about her incredible life, finally giving her the chance to tell her own
story.
