Federal regulations and the Deposit Agreement and Disclosures limit the number of the following types of withdrawals and transfers from a savings account to a total of 6 each monthly statement cycle: automatic or per -
authorized transfers, telephone transfers, Online Banking transfers or payments, or, if checks or
debit cards are allowed on the account, check, draft and point - of - sale
transactions.
Debit cards offer all the flexibility of credit
cards for online, over the phone and in person
transactions because they use the same network of credit
card processors to
authorize payments.
We do not
authorize and pay overdrafts for ATM and everyday
debit card transactions for consumer checking accounts other than HSBC Premier unless you are using an overdraft protection plan to cover these
transactions.
To help you avoid fees, we won't
authorize ATM withdrawals or everyday
debit card purchases when you don't have enough money in your account at the time of the
transaction
ATM withdrawals and everyday, non-recurring
debit card transactions (individual
debit card purchases such as at the grocery store or a one - time online purchase), will only be
authorized when we determine you have enough available funds in your eligible account or in your eligible linked Overdraft Protection account at the time of the
transaction.
The bank may use discretion when utilizing the courtesy overdraft limit to pay checks, automatic bill payments and recurring
debit card transactions up to an
authorized limit and reserves the right to return an item as unpaid.
For accounts with Extended Coverage, the Overdraft Privilege Limit is included in the available balance for
authorizing ATM and everyday
debit card transactions.
However, this would allow us to
authorize transactions up to the amount of your Overdraft Privilege limit and may also help you avoid overdrafts in excess of your available funds that could result in suspension of your
debit card.
Although under payment system rules, Navigant Credit Union may be obligated to pay some unauthorized
debit card transactions, Navigant Credit Union will not
authorize debit card or ATM
transactions unless there are available funds (including Overdraft Coverage Options) to cover the
transactions and any fee (s).
If we decide not to
authorize and pay your ATM and
Debit Card transaction into overdraft, it will be declined.
- Check or other
debit returned unpaid for lack of sufficient funds, check or other
debit presented and paid as a courtesy against insufficient funds, or
debit card transaction authorized and paid against insufficient funds pursuant to the credit union's overdraft services agreement
When the Service is not available, if the Account is a consumer account, federal regulations prohibit us from deciding to pay Overdrafts on the Account which are automatic teller machine (ATM)
Transactions and onetime
debit card Transactions unless an owner of the Account has
authorized us to do so.
With ATM and Everyday
Debit Card transactions, this service gives you the option to allow us to consider
authorizing and paying these items into overdraft or not.
We may pay overdrafts for checks and other
transactions using your account number and for automatic bill payments (ACH and recurring
debit transactions), and if you give us permission, we may
authorize and pay overdrafts for ATM
transactions and everyday non-recurring
debit transactions (individual
debit card purchases such as grocery store or one - time online purchases).
Personal accounts are also eligible for Standard Overdraft Coverage, although you need to opt - in to this service if you want us to consider
authorizing and paying your ATM and everyday
debit card transactions into overdraft.
If we do not
authorize your ATM and
debit card transactions, it will be declined and it will not be paid into overdraft, and you will not be assessed an overdraft fee.
With this option, Harborstone will
authorize and pay extended overdrafts for the following
transactions: ACH withdrawals and recurring
debit transactions Online Bill Pay
transactions Checks written from your checking account ATM
transactions One - time
debit card transactions
