available from corn and
food crops is very small; for biofuels to have a large impact, we must harness
energy from nonedible plants, also known as cellulosic biomass — wood and wood waste, agricultural waste, and
energy crops.
This area of the brain, called the hypothalamus, contains specialized cellular sensors that can detect the level of
energy available from food and, depending on that level, initiate processes which either create or conserve
energy in the body.
As there's no readily
available calories to be found
from food, the body will release more AMPK and thus has to work harder to maintain
energy levels.
The
energy available to the cells depends on the quality of
foods we eat, and on the presence of vitamins and minerals, which activate enzyme systems that liberate
energy from foods.
In a fasted state that

available from fat stores so there is less dependence on
food intake.
Cardio exercise is ideal because once any
available calories
from food or drink have quickly been used up, to help power your body through your workout, the body is forced to look for alternative
energy sources, which just so happen to come in the form of stored body fat.
During the past thirty years, the
energy available from processed flour and cereal products and the added fats and oils in them has increased by nearly two hundred calories, while the
energy available from less processed
foods — meat, eggs, nuts, fruits, and vegetables — has increased by less than twenty calories (Figure 3).5
Differences in
food composi - tion, patterns of
food consumption, the administered dose of fiber, the metabolic status of the individual (e.g., obese, lean, malnourished), and the digestive capability of the individual influence the digestible
energy consumed and the metabolizable
energy available from various dietary fibers.
There is no reputable scientific evidence that raw
foods are better for your pet - but we do know that cooking can make
available more
food energy from the meat protein your pet eats.
A pregnant dog can not gain enough
energy from the puppy
food because it is composed of grains, and the

available to dogs.
Given that humans are currently pulling 17 tW
from the earth, as fossil fuels, and using another 30 tW for
energy from food, our current needs are already a big proportion of the total «free
energy»
available.

available on how much of the
food people are eating ccomes
from energy - intensive, fossil - fuel - dependent farming.
The researchers conclude: «The
energy discarded in wasted
food is more than the
energy available from many popular efficiency and
energy procurement strategies, such as the annual production of ethanol
from grains and annual petroleum
available from drilling in the outer continental shelf,» and so minimizing wasted
food means minimizing overall
energy consumption.

It appears to me, caveat as above, that AGW has created a lifeless system in thinking in this «
energy balance» much as it has done with CO2 with its destruction of the dynamical system which is all life by thinking of plants merely as «carbon sinks», somewhere merely to store CO2;
from which the used to be known fact that CO2 was
food for all living carbon life forms is practically unknown and now at the absurd reasoning
from not knowing it, that it can defy gravity and stay removed and out of reach
from the carbon life forms which evolved
from its property of being
available at ground level.
