Big in your list I can agree that all these players would improve us, but let's look at our CB At the moment Kos, top player but is struggling with a inj which may or may not heal, at the moment he isn't match fit so not up to his own high standard, so needs help or a defender of his quality so he can go and recover properly So then we have Mert, too slow and no longer good enough, I'm not sure if he's even good enough for 3 rd choice CB, too slow, poor on the air for his size and not brave enough, he's lasted this long due to Kos he needs a Top class CB just to allow him to play
against average teams Ok now Reid not top class we can all agree so we couldn't really play him with MERT as he isn't Kos quality so can't cover merits deficiencys He could be ok with Kos but Kos is struggling So is Reid what we need???? And finally Wenger if he has all 3 fit will still play Kos / Mert first choice Oh and God forbid we play MERT / Reid

against big teams so current state is a deficit of 4 pts if we want 87 pts and this will remain so (if we don't lose more pts
against average teams) or worsen until we get 4 pts off
big teams.
For every pts lost
against average teams we have to gain them
against big teams.
My own algorithm to determine if we are on track with my expectations is: Beats all
Average teams home away means 28 wins = 84 pts plus 1 win or 3 draws
against big teams and we have 87 pts.
so essentially they compare Kansas» performance
against a
Big 12 opponent and finds a comparable performance
against an «
average» D1
team.

Im not sure what stats ur looking at but when it comes to movement behind defenders Giroud is
average due to his lack of pace, a
team like us can not survive
against the
big beasts of Europe with a striker with no pace, but hey we've known this since his first season
Joey Barton always has a
big game in him and is probably due one after several
average displays recently, Shaun Wright - Phillips has pace in abundance while Heidur Helguson is in a terrific vein of form and could thrive
against a United
team shorn of centre - back and captain Nemanja Vidic.
