average quality players, players we don't need, players Wenger refuses to play.

Top class
players earning only a little more than rubbish /
average players make no sense in terms of: struggling to sell rubbish /
average players because no one will match their ridiculous wages, contract renewals (as we're seeing with the likes Sanchez and Ozil, not to mention other top
players who have left in the past), and in terms of attracting top
quality players.
If they can bring in 5 - 6 world class
players next season and offload 5 - 7
average to below
average players, AND with a new top
quality Manager, they could probably get up to 4th place next season and then bring in another 5 top
quality players the following offseason and then challenge for the league title in 2019 - 2020.
It's difficult to blame Ozil for the difficulties he's faced at Arsenal without looking at the big picture... like the fans, he too was lied to by Wenger... there is no doubt in my mind that he was told by Wenger that he was trying desperately to recreate our earlier success by acquiring
players that fit the system he ran when Henry was in his prime... as we know this hasn't happened... in order for Ozl to flourish he needs some speed up front, forwards that can make intelligent runs, a boss in the midfield to compensate for his obvious defensive liabilities and defenders who can transition from defence to offence quickly and efficiently... much like he had in Real and with the German National squad... unfortunately he ended up on a squad that has a striker who plays with his back to goal, very few intelligent runs into the box, minus Sanchez, no one to take pressure off him in the midfield, once Cazorla was injured,
average defensive midfielders around him, which simply highlighted his lacking defensive
qualities and defenders who lack the necessary cutting edge when it comes to transitional passing... instead of blaming Ozil, which is simply too easy, especially considering his mopey disposition, we should be asking ownership and / or Wenger why they brought him in if they didn't intend on doing what was necessary to get the best from him... can you imagine Ozil playing with the likes of Henry, Viera, Petit and Pires, it would be incredibly to watch and even more difficult to stop... so the only thing different between his experiences in Real and with the German team versus his time at Arsenal are the
players around him and we all know who is in charge of making those decisions, the Grinch who stole soccer
But we already had one of the highest wage bills in the world, despite having a squad with hardly any top

Personally I'd rather roll the dice on Embiid staying healthy and Simmons getting even a below
average jumper, if that happens you have two number 1 championship option
quality guys on the same team and two guys with top 5
player potential.
Pace only part of his problem... though a big one... his distribution of ball out if defence is awful... one of worst in EPL... slows down our forward movement massively and often puts receiving
player in akward situation wher only option is back pass... He is also
average in air... So his one
quality is positional sense so he is alright as a bench
player which is how Germany use him... So yes the guy is right we will not win league with this mertesaker starting
Main issue with klopp is that he replaces

Do you even know what

In the midfield, (including RWB & LWB) we have a whole bunch of tweeners... none offer the full package, none make sense in our manager's current favourite formation, except for Sead on the left and Ox on the right, and all of them have never shown any consistency for more than a heartbeat... Sead, who I'm including in this category because of our present formation, looks like a positive addition, minus his occasional brain farts, but I would rather see what he could do in a back 4 before making my mind up... Ox, who has never played better, which isn't saying much considering his largely underwhelming play in previous seasons, seems to have found a home in this new formation; unfortunately, can we really expect this oft - injured
player to handle the taxing duties that come with said position over the long haul, not to mention, it looks like he has no intention of staying... Ramsey has relied on the empathy that stems from his gruesome injury years ago and the excitement that was generated a few years back when he finally seemed to put in altogether, but on the whole he has been a big disappointment (neither he nor the Ox have scored enough to warrant a regular spot)... Wiltshire should be put on a weekly contract then played until he suffers his first injury, if and when that occurs he should be shipped - out and no one should very be allowed to say his name on club grounds ever again... Elnehy & Coq are
average players who couldn't make any of the top 7 teams currently in the EPL... both have showed some great energy on the pitch, but neither are top
quality and no good team can afford to have that many
average players on their bench playing the same position, especially with Coq's injury history / discipline concerns and Elheny's headless chicken tendencies... as for Xhaka, his tenure here so far has been incredibly underwhelming... we know he has some skills to provide the long ball but his defensive work is piss poor and he gives the ball away too cheaply and far too often... finally, the enigma himself, Ozil, so much skill with his left foot but his presence has been more frustrating than uplifting... in many respects his failure has been directly related to the failure of this club to provide him with the necessary
players up front, minus Sanchez of course, and unless something drastic happens very soon his legacy will be largely a negative one (much like Wenger's)
Big in your list I can agree that all these
players would improve us, but let's look at our CB At the moment Kos, top
player but is struggling with a inj which may or may not heal, at the moment he isn't match fit so not up to his own high standard, so needs help or a defender of his
quality so he can go and recover properly So then we have Mert, too slow and no longer good enough, I'm not sure if he's even good enough for 3 rd choice CB, too slow, poor on the air for his size and not brave enough, he's lasted this long due to Kos he needs a Top class CB just to allow him to play against
average teams Ok now Reid not top class we can all agree so we couldn't really play him with MERT as he isn't Kos
quality so can't cover merits deficiencys He could be ok with Kos but Kos is struggling So is Reid what we need???? And finally Wenger if he has all 3 fit will still play Kos / Mert first choice Oh and God forbid we play MERT / Reid against the top teams like Chels / city / utd / Southampton Chuckle chuckle
This team needs another
quality attacker, another Sanchez... Walcott, and Giroud, even Ox and Campbell are all
average at best, they are squad
players not game changers, you can not deny that...
This headline could be said for any
player this year!!!!!! i think apart from our new wizzard from barcalona the rest of the team have so stage been very
average!!!!! most of them would have struggled to hold down a starting place in any of the other top 4 teams, I keep hearing fans saying we have loads of
players but where is the
quality that we all seen 10 - 15 years ago?
It's the manner in which the best teams see the reason to strengthen their teams more, while Arsenal, the Wenger trophy specialists see no need to strengthen the already
average squad that could require 2 or more
quality players??

Exceptional
Quality Made the Difference: Very often when we lose, we call our manager and
players average.
We have to show true ambition, and stop forcing
average players into the team and expect to keep true
quality players.
@davidnz has anyone ever told you are
average?You are
average and so is a lot of people around here.Gabriel, Wilshere, Ramsey, Ox, Gibbs and Welbeck are not
average players.The
average players in Arsenal so far based on their
quality are: Debuchy (after injury), Mertesacker (very
average), Chambers (laughably terrible), Giroud (will forever be), Sanogo (a disgrace), Jenkinson (but can still fulfill potential) and Welbeck (awful)
You have mentioned stagnation of
players like ox, bellerin, Iwobi, wilshare all these are
average players they lack the skill and they are not technicality gifted these
qualities you are born with as talent no manager can give that!In military there are those who are called sharpshooters they are not trained to be so it is in them so your allegations against Wenger is therefore null and void and should be dismissed. It unfortunate that Wenger has worked with so many
average players
Fans fail to see that we are blessed to have a DM like coquelin, I mean look at how solid our team has become when he plays. His defensive
qualities are what please me the most.Coquelin reads the game really well and knows exactly where an opponent is going to drop the next pass that is why you see him making so many interceptions because he reads the game well and he is not afraid to challenge for the ball.He is also very desciplined withe ball and passes the ball quick enough to start a counter attack. So for me, I couldn't ask for another DM than Coquelin please let's learn to appreciate what we have.Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Kondogbia etc are highly rated because they play for other clubs if they were playing for Arsenal we would have branded them «
average players», we would be crying for Wenger to sign «world class DMs».
mates its time we say hard truths and stand by them.we want arsenal to win the title not arsen so spending is not an issue.this season we hve seen how our squad is of
average quality only three or four world class
players.is wenger the man to take us the next level.someone who drops joel and picks Walcott who is currently playing like an amateur.our midfield is shocking we keep passing the ball backwards till we concede is when we st art shifting gears.we need more urgency from both the
players and manager.play the same way everyweek and expect a win.its time arsenal moves on we need new man at the helm to lead the club.
What baffles me more than anything though, is why can not Wenger tell the difference between
quality players and
average / rubbish
players anymore?
The main reason the
players are blameless in my opinion, is because Wenger has changed a lot of
players down the years, and has gone from more of an
average squad, with a sprinkling of
quality, to one of the best squads in the league, and yet nothing has changed!
Well to a point they are right, maybe we are luckier than your
average PL club, but then we are NOT your
average PL club, we are charged the highest ticket prices of any club in the EPL for starter's and we are now apparently debt free and according to certain sources inside the clubs Hierarchy can buy any
player we want, in short we are financially as big as any of our competition with regards to the ability to buy in top
quality talent, and while we don't have the money to burn that Man city or Chelsea have we are in a position to spend more and spend it more often as long as there is a degree of prudence.
Should this even be a topic?Giroud is a
player of
average quality always surrounded by good players.I just don't get. It's as if only Arsenal fans rate him. This was a
player who was bought to be the leading striker at Arsenal and after his years of failure which many deny he's now become a super sub?How laughable is that. From failure to super sub.If the so called world class striker we're signing goes out with an injury for about five months who comes in then.It seems to me people lack vision. Why is it always Giroud Giroud Giroud? After so many seasons people are still debating what souldn't even be debatable.I've lost count of the number of times he's been talked about here. This is the problem with our club. It's just not ruthless. This is a
player who should have been gone long ago but due to him being French he still gets the chances. We won't miss him when he goes and I'd like to see if he'd stand out in a smaller club.
I'm with you there mate. He's just an
average player beign given many chances.A lot of
average strikers can even do better because of the chances Arsenal creates. There are some strikers who are not top
quality but have very good finishing that if given the same seasons and chances Giroud has had they can do better.I hate it when they make it seem like only world class strikers are better than him. He's really only improved from season 14/15 honestly speaking. He used to be so bad and waste a lot of chances. It's just that become can not see the fact that he's not as good as they think. We will surely be vindicated by his performance for another club.
I thought he was something special before he came to Watford. Before that I had never watched him but how Wenger followed him made me think he was something special. He's just not good at all. He's just an okay player. However we have many
players with the same okay
quality in our squad. The main thing that affects is poor mentality and poor managerial skills. It's really never been about the
players even if many of them are
average.
Winston Reid not good enough for Arsenal, he is an
average player Arsenal need
quality defenders.
total failure... Can you believe Wenger spent 32 millions on 2
average players (Chambers and Welbeck) and is penny pinching when is sbout real class
players? What is in his mind?Pay a fortune in salary for mediocre
players live Walcott, Ramsey and Wilshere and have hesitations about increasing Sanchez wages... keeping on books failures like Sanogo... The truth is - I say it for years and years - until the «British core» disapears, we are not going to be succesful. The low
quality of British
players is dragging the team back.Last time Arsenal was a powerhouse NONE of the first 11 was British.Wanna see how the British
quality looks like in a football team - look no further than national sides of England, Scotland, N Ireland, Wales, even Ireland (not British but same style)- all mediocre teams «able» to be defeated by any team coming to mind. And you are asking about Chambers? He is in the same mold like Wilshere,Walcott,Ox,Ramsey,Gibs,Jenkinson - mediocre overpriced and overpaid
players. The world is full with hungry, ambitious and skilled
players living in poverty and dreaming of moving to the top at any cost or sacrifice (did you see the poor house - if you can call that house, looking more like an old tent - in which Alexis Sanchez grew up?Or Suarez?)
I am pissed today hearing about Olivier Giroud three year contract and salary he is earning. That is unfair because Giroud does not deserve it.He has not worked to show that he deserves it.We should look at the
quality snd output of our
players before paying them.Well its too late now so we should look forward. We do nt need stats to even tell us that Girouf is usually
average for arsenal than good at most times.I would have sold him if i was Wenger because he does not deserve to be leading the line still after 3 years and i doubt he will like to warm the bench. He is very lucky to have Wenger as a coach of arsenal london fc.Arsenal has not moved forward because we think getting rid of
players is a bad thing. We always hesitate when it comes to selling
players we do nt need.Arsenal need a world class cf not a world class cf.Its is time to move forward by addressing our mistakes.Since Van persie left we have needed a cf and ifBenzema is available we need to get rid of who we do nt need so that we move forward.Arsenal do not need Giroud though many may be against my speech.Once the premier league starts and Giroud is our main cf it shows that Wenger has not learnt from his mistakes.Just as we got Cech who to me was a need he needs to just find as a reliable and clinical cf.
If you think that the wages of
players probably reflects the
quality of a club then Arsenal's numbers would support that theory as we are fourth on the list with the
average Gunner earning just over # 3.7 million a year and Arsenal currently fourth in the EPL table.
The time Wenger leaves Arsenal it would be at mid table fighting the drop into relegation zone. The guy can't deferentiate between
quality &
average players.
I agree with you, we have more serious issues in our midfield than is talked about all
players there are
average, we need a decent addition and may be offload one because the problem is
quality not quantity
He is a
quality player Eleney and Ramsey have been quite
average recently
When Samuel commented on why it was wrong to sell Lucas Perez you brought up stats between Walcott and Perez and in that you proved using the stats why Walcott is better. If Wenger didn't have blond love for some of his
players then why did he keep benching Perez when he was performing yet the
average guys always got a look in the squad. So if there are stats which prove Walcott is better aren't there stats which also prove Perez is better?Think about that. You also said Perez is not as good as some of us make out.The funny thing is yesterday we had an argument on Giroud and I also tried to imply that Giroud is not as good as we make out and you opposed. You always kept bringing stats up to defend him.Do you know if Bendtner or Chamakh had scored 25 goals for Arsenal in any season they'd still have been regarded as
average.You know why?Because
quality has nothing to do with stats and is just a kind pf talent or state. It seems to me that you think you know it all.You also denied the fact that Wenger likes French
players and that if Perez was French he wouldn't have been out in one season stating other
players as examples. It seems to me that you deny things which are clear for everyone to see.If you think you know better than everyone go and teach Wenger how to win the trophy this season.
not bad
players just
average ones and slightly above
average in girouds case... but because they have spearheaded attack for nigh on 5 years is one reason why arsenal have underperformed... we needed two
quality attackers this window and adding one ai nt going to swing it our way but sadly seems like the yoghurt man has past his sell by date but still deluding himself that he has a first X!
Bendtner or Chamakh would still have been considered
average even if they scored 25goals because they had
average talent. For all the potential Bendtner had he never maximised it so as long asit wasn't developed he's still
average.I mean it's possoble for an
average player to score 25 goals when given the chances and possible for a world class striker to score less than that.
Quality is a talent which may be linked to stats but does not necessarily show on stats.Take Ox for example, if you looked at his stats you might think he's
average but he's not.Look at Lukaku, he's scored many goals for Everton yetmany people here think he's not gpod enough for Arsenal because they look at the
quality and talent andnot just the goals.
The Catalan giants are seemingly making a point of lowering the
average age of their squad with

His

Go watch LaLiga league and you will notice that
