month then divide by number of days in the
month!

month) and space on a manifold (earth) of a somewhat nasty function (http://www.eol.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/weather.cgi?site=fl&fields=tdry&site=fl&units=metric&period=monthly e.g. for the time varying part).
There is a bog in Ireland showing
average temps falling dramatically in a matter of
months.
The offset was calculated by
averaging the difference between the station
temps and the overall
temps (entire lower 48) for all
months with station
temps.
