Having received 115 percent of its
average annual snowfall total
so far this season, the mountain expects to offer skiing and riding on all four mountain faces, including more than 100 features over at Carinthia Parks for as long as the
weather cooperates.
If the world keeps burning fossil fuels and does little else to prevent climate change — the trajectory we are on —
weather events now considered extreme, like the one in 1997 which led to floods
so severe that hundreds of thousands of people in Africa were displaced, and the one in 2009 that led to the worst droughts and bushfires in Australia's history, will become
average by 2050.
But some ocean patterns in the climate system can persist much longer, and understanding them can help make useful predictions for regional and global
averages that don't depend
so much on specific
weather patterns.
With the
weather finally turning I have been avoiding my flats because they make outfits look
so...
average.
So far in 1600 miles of driving in winter
weather we are
averaging 3.2 miles per kWh.
The
average water temperature is 75 degrees Fahrenheit,
so if you and your travel companion like aquatic fun, Phu Quoc's ideal
weather and calm waters are ideal for water sports such as snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing, kayaking, jet - skiing and wind sailing popular.
The temperature
averages at about 80 degrees Fahrenheit year - round,
so no matter what time of the year you go, you're sure to enjoy great
weather.
Sea Temperature The
average sea temperature is about 18 °C (about 64 °F),
so if the
weather is pleasant you could still head down to the beach or out into the countryside.
The
average sea temperature is around 22 °C,
so whether you want to take a refreshing dip or try some watersports such as sailing, wakeboarding or jetskiing or scuba diving, the
weather conditions are definitely clement.
This is in fact part of the central conceit behind climatology: it isn't dealing with the day to day
weather so much as the
average behavior of the system, but it can do this only because fluctuations and unknown factors often cancel one - another out.
Now the models
average out these temporary
weather forcings
so they are only showing the true climate signal.
So now you can say that climate models have this «
averaging over chaotic behaviour» and
weather models don't?
The behaviour and influence of
weather as part of the global heat energy redistribution system is ignored or reduced to meaningless
averages because we have
so little numerical information about it and I believe that is where our current theories and projections fail.
Could they produce sets of
weather - maps that if somehow integrated over 30 years could produce a «supermap» showing actual climate change in terms of e.g
average windspeeds, rainfall, cloud - cover, pressure and
so on?
So for these clowns to claim that they've got a network of 10,000
weather stations around the world and they can calculate the «global
average» temperature it is in reality an astonishingly retarded thing to say.
Query: If
weather is acknowledged to be chaotic and we are speaking of a 10 day or
so window; and, if climate is
weather averaged out over time: 30, 60 or more years, why hasn't climate been acknowledged to be chaotic as well?
«It seems clear that climate change is happening, we continually have record temperatures for the time of year, there is no return of temperatures to «below
average» which we would expect if this was just statistical variation, there is increasing turmoil in the
weather, the barrier reef is bleaching to an extent not seen before and
so on.»
Climate models are what happens when you calculate changes over a long enough period of time for the fluctuations in
weather to
average out
so that you can see the underlying trend.
2014 - 2015... The Ithaca Voice (Author): • This could be warmest day in Ithaca since October 29 • A look ahead at Ithaca
weather; temps this month are 7 degrees below
average • Sub-freezing temps to bring light snow / sleet to Ithaca • Light snow in Ithaca area expected as temperatures drop to 20s • Cool, wet week ahead for Ithaca • Ithaca can expect mild temperatures well above normal this week • Update: Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Ithaca • Above -
average temperatures expected for Ithaca for early October • Why has the
weather this summer been
so amazing?
So computing the «expected value» for temperature, rainfall, etc was equivalent to
averaging these values from
weather reports.
The
average surface air temperature is always tied to the
average sea surface temperature
so that the
weather systems render any greenhouse warming process in the air ineffective and then leave the oceanic influence in unchallenged control.
The solar flux is 1366 watts per sq m
so with the hemisphere having twice the cross sectional area this
averages to 688 watts / sq m The albedo reduces this by 30 % to 478 watts / sq m About half of this energy is incorporated into the Earth systems growing plants creating
weather etc leaving 239 watts / sq m which must be returned to space.
He says
average rainfall for Australia will decrease, but the extreme
weather events will be on the rise,
so while you might get less rain over the year it will come in the form of damaging storms and stronger winds which feel like
so - called freak events.
Climate is in fact
weather averaged over time,
so any
weather event is a part of climate.
So... if climate is the
average of
weather over thirty years, we would get very different answers depending on whether we chose the period 1961 to 1990, 1661 to 1690, or -25090 to -25061.
The principal reason is that water vapor has a short cycle in the atmosphere (10 days on
average) before it is incorporated into
weather events and falls to Earth,
so it can not build up in the atmosphere in the same way as carbon dioxide does.
Climate is the
average of the
weather so it is inherently statistical.
-- modelling procedure requires crude approximations over large grid cells, ignoring local climate and
weather phenomena as large as hurricances — model projections are demonstrably unreliable at regional and local level: even those that appear to simulate the evolution of global temperature do
so only by
averaging hundreds of more or less wrong results for the grid cells.
Water vapor, which is a greenhouse gas, albeit short lived, and a component of and response to
weather conditions — but not, being
so ephemeral, a driver of much longer term
weather patterns (or climate)-- and due to it's heavy prevalence the greenhouse gas that is on
average responsible for more re ra - radiated heat than any other, in fact is not warming, but cooling.
So the longer the
averaging time - period and the wider the spatial
average, the smaller the
weather noise and the greater chance to detect any particular signal.
This will of course vary from year to year with
weather, but it has been a near record rainfall year with quite a bit of cloudy
weather —
so, I would guess an
average year might produce more output than this last year.
So the
average person then concludes quite rightly, that the problem is nobody's problem, meaning that it is an act of God like the
weather, and earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, tsunamis, and the uncontrollable economic forces that make legal fees too high for the majority of population and law society control.
For most people, a digital assistant is just a way to get the
weather or set an alarm: the
average user don't come close to using the full capabilities of different assistants,
so they can't really differentiate between them.
