In a year filled with stellar XBLA games Iron Brigade stood above the crowd with it's high production values, charm, incredibly fun
core gameplay and the all important pull of getting more
awesome loot.
At this point, the
core gameplay loop seems like it revolves around trying to one up your friends tricks and with the easy sharing capabilities of current consoles, it'll be easy to show off all of the
awesome stuff you are able to do.
In conclusion, despite having great
core gameplay that continues with the Ninja Gaiden tradition, such as
awesome swordplay and interesting boss fights, the game is simplified to a fault and diluted with cinematic
gameplay elements that cripple it in the process.
Others are similar, but even without those the
core gameplay is so damn
awesome that it keeps players coming back.
In summary, this is a fun 2D action game that still looks
awesome and has some excellent
core run and gun
gameplay with some lacklustre bonus stages.
