If you watch the film, look at each scene, and listen to the dialogue, Fantastic Four was terrible from Trank's
awful script on.

Unfortunately the show is just kinda dumb after that... the
scripted dialogue ranges from generic to
awful; the characters are pantomimes, you know exactly whether they're good or bad right up front, and the show lacks any sort of organic development or growth, you just don't get into it like you would
on a better created and wriiten show.everything is so predictable that by the time big jim kills his nth person it's just sort of «meh whatever» time.
«Permanent Midnight» is based
on writer Jerry Stahl's hyped memoir about his descent into drugs while cranking out
scripts for
awful sitcoms like «ALF.»
And the
script relies way too heavily
on rude, tasteless humor (especially in the final half hour) and over-the-top /» shock - value» scenes, which come - off as desperate and absolutely ridiculous — including an insane brawl in the middle of a street between rival scout troops (that you'd ONLY see in the movies) and an
awful climax involving a rival business mogul (Peter Dinklage).
That's an
awful lot of backstory, but director Joseph Kosinski (TRON: Legacy)-- who co-wrote the
script based
on his graphic novel — soon has us following Jack as he zooms around in his really cool flying machine.
However, it's doubtful any lead could have made the
awful script by Gene Quintano (who previously worked with Hyams
on the Van Damme vehicle Sudden Death) any more tolerable.
