While it's nice to see Allen stepping back in front of the camera for the first time since «Scoop,» that's not exactly the best of omens considering how
awful that movie turned out to be.

It's worth noting, however, that the
movie is initially quite watchable even during its overtly baffling stretches, with Shyamalan's expectedly skillful visuals and the almost uniformly strong performances - Ringer's astoundingly
awful turn is a notable exception - proving effective at sustaining the viewer's interest (albeit on the level of a summer - popcorn - flick extravaganza).
Steven Soderbergh likewise began the year with a legendarily
awful turn (Full Frontal) and ended it with a
movie (Solaris again) destined to receive the sort of critical and popular revision that Blade Runner received twenty years ago.

turn in arguably their worst performances with this simply
awful movie about a shady art dealer trying to recover a stolen painting.
Hopefully, this will
turn out better than that
awful horror
movie with the same name that came out several years ago.
I would be vaguely forgiving if American Beauty was in his top 5 but nope, # 5 - # 2 are hipster
movies you have never heard of and number one is either an
awful movie or a decent
movie but still embarrassed to hear some thinks it is best
movie ever... seriously nick, develop taste of you own, even if if you have to
turn in your hipster beard and attitude.
