The 2 - MP front
camera offered good color representation on the selfies we took in our office, but we found the
camera placement on the top right to be a bit
awkward.
Also of note is the
camera's somewhat
awkward placement when using the device in landscape mode; because it's positioned on the left - hand side of the tablet, we often inadvertently covered it with our thumb.
Should these renders be of the final product (and there's no reason they shouldn't be at this point), the fingerprint sensor will be placed below the single rear
camera, making the Galaxy A5 (2018) and its siblings the first to fix Samsung's
awkward fingerprint sensor
placement instead of the Galaxy S9.
The biggest change in the physical design of the S9 is the back, where Samsung seems to be rearranging the fingerprint reader /
camera module, placing the fingerprint sensor in it's rightful place below the
camera module, instead of the
awkward side
placement of the S8.
They both have rear - mounted fingerprint scanners, but the S8's has received a lot of criticism due to its
awkward placement beside the
camera lens.
The rear
camera is also found at the bottom of the back of the tablet, once again on the barrel, a
placement that is somewhat
awkward.
Some reports have suggested the Note 9 will feature a fingerprint sensor embedded within the display rather than continue with the slightly
awkward rear - mounted positioning found on the S8, S8 + and Note 8 and the under - the -
camera placement on the S9 and S9 +.
