"Azodicarbonamide" is a chemical compound used in the production of plastics and foams. It is mainly used as a foaming agent, helping materials expand and increase in volume.

Azodicarbonamide from its food.
Earlier this year, Subway announced only one day after Hari posted a petition to stop the sandwich chain from
using azodicarbonamide that it would remove the chemical from its breads.
In 2011, the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry reported that
azodicarbonamide partially degrades when processed with heat and forms trace amounts of semicarbazide — which has been shown to cause cancer tumors.
That list includes unusual - sounding Disodium Guanylate and
Azodicarbonamide (which aren't in Panera's food today), as well as Polydextrose and Titanium Dioxide (both of which are being removed from the menu).
