As one example, I had my first
baby in a birthing center within a NYC hospital, and even in this unit which was dedicated to natural birth, I had to fight a nurse in the middle of the night who insisted that my baby was starving because I was exclusively breastfeeding.
I was fortunate to find a doctor in my small town who would work with my desires and who delivered
babies in a birthing center at the small, local hospital.
Together they decide on whether to have a home birth with a midwife in attendance, or to have
their baby in a birthing center without the use of drugs - a natural childbirth.
Many pregnant women don't know that when it comes to giving birth they have another option: rather than doing time at the hospital, you may decide to have
your baby in a birthing center.

People will change the story to suit them, so if your
baby was «saved» by going unassisted, by

baby - friendly, it just means they haven't completed the process yet.
Additionally, a healthful diet, folic acid and vitamin supplements, and delivery
in a perinatal
birthing center can go a long way toward ensuring the good health of an older new mom and her
baby.
A birth plan that integrates a natural birth or a water birth requires finding a
birthing center that is user friendly
in these regards, or a determination to have the
baby at home.
