with baby food purees, and due to the fact that nutrients may leach / evaporate upon thawing because of the water crystals, it is more prudent to use your frozen
baby foods cubes as soon as possible — 3 months of storage tops.
An easy way to do this
with very young
babies is to purchase small trays, similar to ice
cube trays, which can be used to store small portions of pureed
foods.
You can also make lots of different
baby food flavours by mixing and matching different fruit and veggie
cubes — combining a
cube of pureed apple
with a
cube of pureed carrot, for example — yum!
making a large batch of puree and freezing portions in an ice
cube tray, much like you can do
with regular homemade
baby food or expressed breast milk.
