I sure hope all the women who listen to this woman
talk recognize that the R&R ticket would have taken the
food out of her
baby's mouth by denying
food stamps and denied them both shelter by eliminating programs like low - income housing.
I feel like
baby food is the thing everyone secretly loves, but no one ever
talks about it.
Registered Nutritionist, Charlotte Stirling - Reed,
talks about how a mother can influence her
baby's tastes and
food preferences during pregnancy, with the
foods that she chooses to eat.
Pregnant people suck, we are boring, the only thing we
talk about is
babies, pregnancy and

Before introducing solids,
talk to the pediatrician about your
baby's readiness for solids, and which
foods to introduce and when.
I have two rooms full of toys and musical things, like electric keyboard, older computer to learn things on «ABC.com», (a subscription service for 2 + yrs old children), and battery operated toys that are musical, or
talk, or walk, or beep, or run, blocks and puzzles, plush toys and soft rubber balls, and when no
babies around, I blow up lots of balloons which they throw up in the air and try to catch, or I bring out all the «kitchen stuff» (a collection of plastic dish sets, plastic fake
food and utensils, and a big tablecloth I lay it all on and then pick it all up with until next time).
Talk about the
food: Explain what your
baby is eating by naming the ingredient, its color, smell and taste.
Change your
baby's diet If you're breastfeeding,
talk to your healthcare provider about eliminating certain
foods, like dairy, from your diet.
Track how your
baby reacts to the
food you are giving him or her, and
talk to your doctor about diagnosis.
But as always, be sure to
talk to your
baby's doctor or pediatrician before introducing any
food to prevent allergies, especially if your
baby is already at risk.
We feed our
babies cow's milk based formulas, we switch our
babies to cow's milk when they get older, we feed our children cheese and yoghurt... yet breastfeeding our
babies when they are walking,
talking and eating other
foods is seen as strange to many people.
If you suspect that your
baby has reacted to a
food by being unsettled or upset, avoid this
food for a while and if the problem persists when you try the
food again
talk to your doctor, a nutritionist / dietitian or your public health nurse.
And taking them outside to
talk to them when they are screaming is good, but it doesn't always work with a younger
baby who just doesn't get why we are there in the first place and then your in and out of the restaurant so many times you mine as well just grab your
food and eat in the car while you wait for everyone else to finish.
Despite all the
talk of small farms disappearing, despite concerns of big ag controlling our
food, GMOing everything and dousing it all in RoundUp, driving past my farm one might feel a flutter of relief, think there's a small farm right there where I can go and pick up a bag of organic
baby kale, spot a bluebird resting on a fig branch, notice a patch of weeds growing among the lettuce.
As always,
talk with your pediatrician about his insights on when your
baby can eat these
foods.

baby seems to be in pain, is not growing well, or is refusing
food, then

babies are born..., we

baby is at risk for
food allergies (see Myth # 3, below),

If your
baby is not yet eating a broad range of solid
foods,

Don't make a fuss over the
food —
talk about the
food you are offering and make some «yum yum» sounds however, ensure that you are not overwhelming your
baby with your words and sounds.
