Once your
baby is on cow's milk, it's a good idea to feed them
iron - rich foods or
juices, as cow's milk doesn't have the
iron that breast milk or fortified
baby formula has.
Expect a little constipation because cereal has little fiber and a lot of
iron in it, but I combat it by giving him
baby juices and bottled water as well.
Juices containing vitamin C might improve your
baby's absorption of
iron.
Studies have shown that most vitamins, fluoride,
iron, water,
juice, formula and solid foods are not beneficial to healthy breastfed
babies during the first six months, and some can even be harmful.
