of pressure on me I guess on that regard.
We're concentrating on our
baby we may
kind of do
things really we are not supposed to do.
So she was out in public with her eight week old son and it says that she was at a cafe and she happened to be breastfeeding her
baby and it says an elderly women, in not sure if it actually lists her name or sorry her age, but anyway this elderly women comes up to her and honestly the mom was like «oh no, she's going to tell me to cover up, she's going to be like, be mean about this or you know or how dare I be, you know doing this in public
kind of thing» and the only
thing the elderly wanted to do was to help the mom be able to eat.
I
kind of knew what their reactions would be, so I was happy with the decision and you know there's so many
things when you have a new
baby, with people telling you what you should and should not be doing, that I just decided this was my decision.
So she literally,
of course she asked and stuff but she helped the mom but cutting up her food so the mom didn't have to put the
baby down, you know and stop with the breastfeeding because you then the
baby goes crazy and stuff like that and so she literally help cut her food which I just thought was just the most heartwarming
thing just because it was just so different then you know,
kind of what was going on in the moms head.
Once
baby is out, mom can, you know see the gender and then usually we
kind of put the drape back up because then
things are a little bit more clinical again.
But know she tells folks look, that's just what she does so you will even have to deal with it or you know stick your head in the sand because she is going to breastfeed so you might as well get used to it, you know so those
kind of things eight years down the line really does help in order for me too, to be able to say «yeah I have three
babies» everybody is moving, everybody wants to watch me, watch them entertain, they try to entertain me in some fashion.
Well, somewhere between - I'd
kind of like to say - six to eight months,
babies develop what we refer to as object permanence, and they begin to understand that
things and people exit when they're not present.
Before to just
kind of gage if your
baby is really hungry, and then after if you do... if your
baby does bite, to immediately give your
baby a chew toy, you know, whether it's a (inaudible)
thing, or whatever, some sort
of teething toy.

of getting into in a deeper way than physicians may, who are dealing with more medical complications.
But the only
thing you may not like is the structure
of the seat most
of the time gives your
baby slightly
kind of seating position, which may b uncomfortable during sleeping time.
«One
of the
kindest things that happened were several people who gave
baby gifts and said, «Don't you dare write a thank you note.»
This is the
kind of habit that only gets worse as your
baby grows, because they're stronger, louder, and more stubborn about certain
things.
But most
of the time if you're just doing these
things that we're talking about and you probably wouldn't have a drastic plummet
of milk supply, you would see a decrease and you could
kind of, look, in my experience most women are able to
kind of play with what works for them so, they're not necessarily having a low supply and then having a get it back up so they're more
kind of playing with what works with their
baby and their body
It is
kind of the same
thing with some women when they meet their
babies.
KRISTINA CHAMBERLAIN: Well sometimes moms will deal with it more in the first couple
of months just while their bodies and
babies and still you know figuring out what's the supply and demand is, so, a lot
of times after the
baby's hit you know the 2 or 3 months mark that starts to get better just because again moms and
babies bodies are you know dancing together a little bit better they're getting more in to rhythm, so sometimes that the time and then in itself will
kind of resolve it as
baby gets bigger and
kind of figures that out but if after the 2 months mark it's still an issue when it's making nursing hard for mom and
baby I would say then start doing some
of the
things that we talked about to be a little bit more assertively treating it
One
of the good
things about this one is that it is naturally light enough not to leave any
kind of reside on your
baby's hair or skin.
It's a feedback mechanism that's how just milk supply in general your body gets the message from
baby to make milk and so, it's believed that this
thing called the feedback inhibitor
of lactation which controls milk supply has some
kind of relationship tied in to emptying and filling a breast.
Sunny Gault: It's
kind of like, you know, when you look at the formula packages and stuff like that, you see, okay this is for newborns, and this is for when you graduate you know, to like a toddler
thing, and it's
kind of like your body's natural way
of just saying, «Hey, I know what my
baby needs...», you know, your body's naturally upgrading as you would, you know, if you were purchasing formula or something like that, but it's just your body naturally doing it.
And then for a
baby you know so many
things that you have mentioned earlier truth for
babies who were
kind of battling oversupply issues too were those
babies who tend to be very gassy, sometimes their colicky, they spit up a lot, they just seemed really fussy at the breast if it's really difficult for them to nurse while some
of the
babies might even have a nursing strike for a period
of time where they just don't want to breastfeed because it's not a pleasant experience for them.
I mean you always are going to have
babies that don't like certain
things and when we're looking at different
kinds of things to do, I mean we're looking at the majority.
They get that
kind of drunk tone and then the other
thing is that you if we write down or if you keep a log
of baby's pees and poops, the
baby only needs to have one pee and one poop in the first day
of life and in the second 24 hours only two pees, two poops and third 24 hours only three pees and three poops, I mean that's, it's like, per day
of life you are going to increase the pees and poops.
