Parenting is indeed the better way to

Looking
back on the last decade since becoming a
parent, I can see how
Attachment Parenting International (API) values — trust, empathy, kindness, joy, compassion, peace — have shaped both my personal life and my professional career.
If you think
back to that cover about the
attachment parenting and the mother feeding her three year old, you know, I mean obviously it would be great if we had a copy of that in front of us now, and maybe somebody listening can pull that up
on their PC while their listening.

At one point, I owned half a dozen strollers (
attachment parenting frowns upon these because they keep Mom from physically connecting with her baby), but I also strap my almost 5 - year - old into an Ergo baby carrier — and love feeling her big - girl weight
on my
back.
This highlights the children's needs of going out to explore or coming
back in and depending
on the secure
attachment bond with the
parent / care giver.
As
parents of children with reactive
attachment disorder, we often put the task of caring for ourselves
on the
back burner.
However, there will also be more theoretically orientated articles
on e.g.
attachment theory or positive psychology theory for those of you are interested in
parenting backed up by science.
