Chrysler boasts of the Challenger's five -
passenger capacity, but
anyone beyond booster -
seat age will be too big for the middle rear spot, and pushing the front
seats too far
back causes rear legroom to disappear in a hurry.
The doors open nice and wide at the front and
back, making getting in and out easy, but that transmission tunnel means
anyone sitting in the middle rear
seat will have their knees apart and feet fighting for space with those of
passengers sitting in the outer chairs.
However, the estate body style does mean that there's more rear headroom here than in the Insignia saloon or hatchback, so
anyone looking at those models might want to consider the marginally more expensive Sports Tourer if taller
passengers will regularly be using the
back seats.
Don't try to stuff
anyone in the second set of
seats, however - think of the Infiniti as a two -
passenger cruiser and use the
back row to supplement the tiny amount of trunk space offered by the car with the top down.
