We went with the lazy option and just dragged a piece of furniture (a chair, in our
case) in front of the
stairs for about three weeks until the obsession subsided and he'd mastered coming
back down the
stairs.
The problem with door B is that it is down the hall, around the
back, has a steep
stair case, requires going through several more doors with lines (queue), several stop lights, and finally, when you get through, you have spent all your money and got nothing for having gone through door B. Door A seems more direct.
