As a temporary fix, I have a ribbon tying the two
back straps together racerback - style.

So you would have 4 dress bodies cut out (mine in this picture each 2 are pinned to each other reading for sewing) Sew right sides
together, flip out then top stitch, sew
strap pieces
together on the inside of the
back portion of the dress, then sew the dress body
together on the sides.
Another option is to double up the layers of fabric by cutting out two identical pieces for the front and
back, sewing down the open edges whilst the pieces are pinned right sides
together, then flipping the bodice right way out, then adding the
straps.
The top and bottom portion of the dress is held
together by two thin
straps along the
back where the waistline is high and elasticized to provide a great stretch.
I knew the fringe wouldn't work over the buckle, and since this pair of sandals had a
back zipper entrance, I simple cut off the buckle, glued the ankle
strap together, and then reinforced it with two staples from a staple gun.
A golden curb chain
strap - cut and tied
back together at the top - lends a certain nonchalant elegance to the look.
Dan tied my
strap back together until we could find a shoe store.
A cage work of
back straps are laced
together, elevating the simple silhouette of this soft stretch knit top from Peck & Peck.
They are very close to each other, held
together by a
strap that makes them sit
back to
back.
