Due to its massive length, the artwork takes up both the
back and right
walls of the gallery
space, creating an immersive landscape.
His works may go on the table, the shelf, or on the
wall, changing from «functional» to «visually pleasurable» and
back again, or combining both at once, and thereby filling and coloring the
spaces of daily life.
The
backs of a few
of the works are brightly painted, allowing a glow to extend onto the
wall behind them, further blending the structures themselves into the studio
space.
The
back wall is a broad band
of ivory; the counter top, which stretches on both sides beyond the edge
of the picture, denying its recession in
space, is a series
of stripes - green, white, red, blue, teal - and - blue in descending order - and the striping continues at the
back of the crowded deli case.
One
of these sculptures, «Unplug Me Please (in Purple)», 2009, is a wooden box that leans
back against the
wall of the
space: a minimalist sculpture on which elements have been hung on clothing hangers, such as a three quarter length mans coat and a dress shirt.
At roughly 30 feet wide, you can have art or seating in the middle
of the room and still have enough
space to move, get
back and see the art on the
walls.

space that, just a few months ago, belonged to China Art Objects — there's a -LSB-.....]
The vinyl also reflects the warm shower
of light
back into the
space and the atmospheric radiance is almost perfect until you turn to leave and find the
wall by the door has been stripped away, overshadowing the corner with a darker tenor.
A

of the gallery from front to
back, through 2 exhibition
spaces, along a corridor and through the
back office
space.
In addition to our own individual works (I printed mine in the
space), we collaborated on several
of the sculptural components and the prints along the
back wall.
Tucked away at Jerwood Visual Arts Project
Space on a deep purple
wall at the
back of Café 171 was Soheila Sokhanvari's latest commission «Paradise Lost» (all works 2017).
Like so much at the South London Gallery, the overall simplicity
of the
space hides some surprise; the west
wall pivots to open a continuous field between the
back garden and the interior.
Almost reaching the ceiling, the photographs above head were extremely difficult to see since there was only a narrow margin
of space between the viewer and the
wall, an arrangement that prevented the viewer from stepping
back and seeing the
wall in its entirety.
But in this large Chelsea gallery The Hellfire Club was set up with black
walls, broken chandeliers, photocopied images, quiet sound accompaniment — and a lot
of empty
space, which allowed visitors to drift
back and forth, tapping into their nostalgia for the British television series, while perusing Kilimnik's recent photographs and paintings, crafted with her signature loose, colorful, thrift - shop style.
It leads to two recent works by the famed Light and
Space movement pioneer on the
back wall of the booth.
Against the historical background
of mural paintings and
wall designs dating
back over millennia, artists in the early 20th century devised concepts for
wall paintings, picture
walls and
wall reliefs, which went beyond the frame
of an individual image in order to take an entire
wall or interior
space into view.
Intimate
space: The «make - out bed» at the centre
of Donald Judd's studio, surrounded by his sculptures, a crushed - car piece and, on the
back wall, a wooden box made by his father
Art360 and Blue Star Contemporary Arts Center are partnering to recognize some
of San Antonio's best high school artists with a new program,
Back of the
Wall at art360, which is designed to offer emerging artists commercial gallery
space and support Blue Star's ARTsmart program.

space, from the front window to the
back wall, where it was reflected by a mirrored brass room - divider, Love Is Not a Feeling, recalling elements from Viennese Art Deco facades.
