No one is saying that the
other religions / philosopies are not
as bad, although I have never heard of a politician who follows Buddhist tradition trying to stop legalization of abortions, or an adherent of Jainism trying to stop same sex marriage.

These are very tho - rny issues we're talking about — a tangled mess of
bad intentions, good intentions, misapplied intentions, and the whole range of psychological variations of mental illness, cognitive dissonance, and a bunch of
other things not really complimentary to
religions in general and to specific
religions as well.
I feel so
bad that people waste their time hating
other people who do not believe
as they do about
religion.
It's
bad enough this exists in
religion, but to make matters
worse that attitude spills over into
other areas, such
as politics, and for lay people, even science.
How can we believe at all against the fact that historically our
religion has functioned
as an opiate for the oppressed and that it is,
as a cultural phenomenon, neither appreciably better nor essentially
worse than any
other religion?
The treatment of people outside Christianity was even
worse, such
as our treatment of «pagans» who refused to convert to Christianity after it became the official
religion of the Roman Empire, or the Jews during most of Christian history, or
other religious groups in Germany and Great Britain who were slaughtered and enslaved by invading Christian armies, or the enslavement of Native Americans and Africans by imperialistic Christian settlers of the «New World.»
I'm not saying there aren't
bad muslims who do
bad things, just
as all
other religions have their sinners, but should islam be understood and based off of the actions of those few people?
I'm pretty sure having someone intolerant of
other religions as president is the
worst thing for america right now.

Mormons are democrats and republicans but they probably feel
bad that a member of their faith gets so much negative slanted stuff from media about him (Even from

Yes all
religions are to blame in some shape or form for their BS mind control, but some are not
as bad as others given the history of their impact.

religion is

other... but no one «in» a
religion can see that.
Though they may deprecate
religion, they are
as bad as the
worst of the religious in not listening to the views of the
other side — after all, they have the knowledge that few do.
