cake batter is to stiff I measured the ingredients so carefully and my daughter doesn't make it any better she tasted it and said it isn't good lol well I'm pushing through come hell or high water I am gonna finish this doggone
cake!!
After 1 hour and 20 minutes check your
cake to see if it is
baked through by inserting a skewer into the middle of it, if it comes out clean then it is done if not give it another 5 minutes and check
again.

cake...... I know, not really that shocking for a
baking site, but as I've said time and time
again, I'm petty rubbish at the whole decorating / making it look pretty thing.
But every time Mother
baked her chocolate layer
cake, we'd beg her to turn it into a «Hand - Me - Down»
again.

Baking and then coming across this
cake at Scandilicious made me think
again.
Now, the fact is (
again) the recipe does makes about 51/2 cups batter for two 9 × 3 inch rounds, one half sheet
baking pan (9x13x1) or a 9x12x3 inch
cake pan.
This is a pretty big
cake so once
again I halved the recipe and this time
baked in mini silicone loaf pans for 40 mins.
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees, lightly oil and flour a 9 ″
cake pan / Sift cornmeal, flour,
baking powder, and salt into a bowl / Whirl almonds and sugar together in a food processor until almonds are finely ground / Add flour mixture to the sugar and almond mixture, process briefly to mix / Grate orange (about 1 T) and juice the orange (about 1/3 C) and add to dry ingredients along with eggs, oil and water / Process for 15 or 20 seconds, scrape the sides and whirl
again just briefly / This is a thin batter / Pour into prepared pan and
bake for 40 - 45 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean when tested.
Good as it was though, I didn't feel I could
bake the same
cake again this year.
I have three piles — ones that I like and bought on the spur of the momemt (aka the hubs has permission to throw away when he goes on his binge cleaning sphere); ones that I LOVE and browse for recipe and photography inspiration every now and then (Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Sprinkle Bakes, Surprise Inside
Cakes to name a few) and finally ones that I use over and over
again and can not be caught without them EVER (
Baking Chez Moi, BHG Bridal Cookbook, Test Kitchen and now Grandbaby

If the
cake needs longer,
bake for another 15 minutes and check
again.
The last thing she
baked was a gluten - free, dairy - free chocolate
cake, and that she once had a birthday
cake that Jay Z couldn't stop raving about — proving once
again that we all have something in common with Taylor Swift.

cake from adzuki beans but figure this doesn't count — then
again i feared putting ground flax in
baked goods didn't count but Dr. Greger mentioned indeed it remained nutritionally sound.
I also use chocolate
cake from the box to makes cookies and now I am doing
again and I
baked Ghirardelli chocolate cookies from the box.
