I absolutely love bread, but I don't have the patience or the skills to
bake yeast recipes!

baked for many years, and I've even
baked several cinnamon roll
recipes, but I'll take all the tips and pointers I can get when it comes to learning techniques with
yeast dough.
I had taken a hiatus from bread

baking yeast breads on and off for several years, and have what may seem like a stupid question: what is the effect of subbing bread flour for all purpose in a

A lot of the
recipes either used no
yeast and instead
baking powder, or some sort of sourdough starter.
Hi, Ive been looking for a
recipe to make buns for a while now, I am quite new to
baking / cooking and have a quick question, when the
yeast is rising in step one, should all the mesuring bowl be the frothy
yeast or should it be half
yeast and half milk mixture??
(Whisking the vinegar and
baking soda together also produces the same desired effect as
yeast in a regular bread

recipes, including this one.
When making the BREAD version, and because of the rise you get from the
yeast, should the bread

baked in two 8X4 - inch loaf pans?

No, the
yeast does not have to be at room temperature before being added to the
recipe (I keep my
yeast in the refrigerator and use it straight from there in
baking).

All of our
recipes are
yeast based and we've never tested with
baking powder.
I realize it's kind of a pain to have cups of starter you either need to
bake with or throw away, but it's all about keeping the natural
yeast in your starter well - fed and maintaining a proper pH. If you try the sourdough
recipe without feeding a few hours ahead of time, your starter won't be active enough to leaven your bread.Let me know how your bread turns out; I'd love to hear!

Another trick that I use with gluten - free
baking which also has issues with rising is to use more
yeast and more
baking powder than the
recipe calls for.
To make it without
yeast, follow the ingredients in this
recipe to substitute for
yeast, but follow the directions for the artisan bread if you'd still like it to be
baked without a pan.
