While we still plan to add larger
baseboard moldings, we already installed a planked wood wall on the right side of the room.
Even though it is a tiny room as you can see, it had three things going for it: nice

It will leave larger nail holes than the 18 gauge so we use it to attach boards when building furniture and to install crown
molding, casing and

Question: Your post mentions that the cabinets are painted BM's «Navajo White», but I'm wondering if the crown
molding /
baseboards are also «Navajo White» or if they are a different white?
They were super simple to put up with our nail gun, and because our
baseboard and crown
molding are flat, everything finished out nice and neat.
Once all the planks are up, we'll re-attach the crown
molding and
baseboard cap
molding, and then use some kind of trim down the sides of the walls to finish everything off, nice and neat.
We chose the lattice so that we could leave our
baseboards and crown
molding as - is.
It's so thin, we didn't have to remove our existing crown or
baseboards - yahoo! We got it in the ceiling
molding section at Home Depot.
For our planks we used
baseboard trim
molding from Home Depot and it worked great!
What did you use for your crown
molding and
baseboards?
Fifth, although I know the original house would have had natural wood
molding, I would paint all of it white;
baseboards, chair rail, paneling, doors and paint the walls a nice neutral color.
In the end, the walls were painted, television electrical relocated,
baseboard replaced, crown
molding added, existing window and door trim repainted, new light fixtures and all furnishings replaced.
In fact the whole home, as you will notice, has gorgeous crown
molding and wide
baseboards throughout!
If you do not want to remove the
baseboards, you can opt to have a quarter round or shoe
molding installed - this is considered to be a more traditional look.
