I suffer from severe M.E so my Mum has to
cook for me (she's incredible and is gradually coming round to a plant
based diet, again your newest
book is helping with this) but she hates pomegranates so I was wondering if there's anything she could use instead?
Other chefs and blogger I love are my dear friends Heidi Swanson of 101 Cookbooks, Sarah Britton of My New Roots, as well as Yotam Ottolenghi, all of their groundbreaking
books and blogs moved vegetable
based cooking on leaps and bounds and they all lead with flavour over anything else which is how I love to
cook.
The thoughtful uses for carrot tops, chickpea soaking liquid, and barley
cooking water — like the rest of the
book's delicious plant -
based recipes — speak to both virtue and pure enjoyment.
Luckily I stumbled across a
book called «The Best Recipe» written by the editors of
Cook's Illustrated magazine and
based on chef's trialling the many different versions of certain recipes out there to find «the absolute best version».
I'm so happy for you and me and those who will be eating my
cooking based on your
book.
Our
book (published by Atena Kustannus) contains over 50 porridge recipes, both raw and
cooked, sweet and savory, and also a bunch of plant -
based pudding and yogurt recipes.
I remember seeing in a regular cookie
cook book, a
base recipe and then there were tons of variations you could do with that one
base.

books when we got home and offered a few suggestions

Cook Everything Vegetarian cookbok by, you guessed it, my food idol Mark Bittman.
Keller, one of America's most acclaimed chefs (The French Laundry; Bouchon), shifts his focus from fine dining to family - style meals for the home
cook in this accessible and dazzlingly beautiful
book based on the fare served at his Ad Hoc restaurant, in Napa, Calif..
The recipes in this
book range from breakfast porridges, to vegetable sides, to some vegetarian main entrees, to more traditional meat -
based entrees, to some pressure
cooker desserts made with real sugar.
It's written in an engaging and straightforward way that's suitable for people new to plant
based cooking (I'll happily gift this
book to friends and family) but it's great for people who are familiar with this style of eating, too.
Based on the Lynne's years of experience
cooking grassfed beef and living among the people who raise it, this
book connects you to a practical and mindful way of eating less meat.
I wish I could share every recipe from the
book, but Jess was kind enough to let me share a recipe so you can get a sense of what I mean by approachable, plant -
based cooking.
