game tasks, Dimensions takes a swerve, telling you to put your controller down and build (using actual LEGO pieces) a physical
portal that sits atop the real - world
base you'll use to interact with the
game.
The
game works similarly to Skylanders in that players purchase a
base set that includes the main
game, three of the figures (Captain Jack Sparrow, Mr. Incredible, and Sully), and a «
portal»
base that allows each toy to interface with the
game.
Scripted comedy in
games is great -
Portal and Monkey Island are up there with any sitcom in terms of writing - but for me two
games stand out in terms of delivering laughs on a consistent and persistent
basis: - Dead Rising 2 - the ability to combine a plank of wood, a lawnmower, a chiselled jawline, a serious expression and a pretty floral dress leads to some of the greatest emergent comedy I've ever seen in a
game.
So a
Portal based pinball
game is a welcome diversion.
I thought it was going to be a hat -
based F2P Pinball
game built on the Source Engine, but it looks like I'm wrong because today Zen Studios announced
Portal Pinball a new
Portal - themed board for Pinball FX2.
That's why I believe we'd be better off receiving a NEW
Portal game based solely around VR.
Think about Valve's portfolio: a story - heavy first - person shooter (Half - Life), a puzzle
game (
Portal), a zombie survival first - person shooter, a highly - competitive skill -
based first - person shooter (Counter-Strike: GO), a MOBA (Dota).
The
game looks like it will involve many physics -

game.
If, like me, you enjoy exploring large sandbox
games and building an awesome
base, then definitely pick up
Portal Knights.
