Professor Dwyer described «reciprocal accountability» as a new approach to contracting and funding which is
based on a more relational approach to improving Indigenous
health that recognises the complex accountabilities of both governments and Indigenous
health service providers.
Because so many of the origins and consequences of childhood toxic stress lie beyond the boundaries of the clinical setting, pediatric
providers are often called on to work collaboratively with parents, social workers, teachers, coaches, civic leaders, policy makers, and other invested stakeholders to influence
services that fall outside the traditional realm of clinical practice.72 In many cases, these efforts extend even further afield, moving into the realm of ecologically
based, public
health initiatives that address the precipitants of toxic stress at the community, state, and national levels.
The Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) developed the TAC
based on its extensive experience in providing pre - and post-adoption counseling and educational
services to families, educators, child welfare staff and mental
health providers in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington D.C. C.A.S.E. also serves as a national resource for foster / adoptive families and professionals through its training, publications, and consultations.
They will provide
services on a contract
basis to help establish IMH Endorsement ® across all areas in Oregon, and to equalize access to the Endorsement ® process for rural
providers from multiple disciplines in the Infant Mental
Health Field.
