interviews, we suspect people transverse the various
types over the course
of their lives.

You would never find this
type of thinking in any other area
of corporate planning, yet
based upon the
interviews conducted for my book, it is a frequently used excuse for not planning at all.
Competency
based interviewing is now the most recognised
type of questioning.
Although the
type of question you are asked will depend entirely upon the role and industry you're applying for, there are some common themes which run through competency -
based interview questions.
You might be familiar with certain
interview types, for example telephone
interviews or group
interviews, but have you ever heard
of competency -
based interviews?
Margaret Buj, a London -
based interview coach, says interviewers increasingly ask these
types of questions to test a candidate's ability to think on his / her feet.
You'll be better equipped for any
type of interview when you practice and prepare for a behavioral -
based interview.

In addition to looking for any cues within the job advertisement, if time permits, conduct informational
interviews with professional contacts in the field to get input regarding the preferred skills, knowledge
bases, and personal qualities
of successful employees in that
type of job.
These
types of competency -
based interview questions typically begin with the phrase, «Tell me about a time when...» The key to successfully answering behavioural
interview questions is to not only understand what skills and expertise you bring to a role, but most importantly, being able to back up your claims with real examples from your previous experience.
Strengths -
based interviews are likely to be more quick - fire than other
types of interviews and might end up asking something subtly different to what you expect at the start
of the question.

Interview patients and families to determine patients» medical and treatment histories • Assess patients to determine the extent

type of interview, a competency -
based interview, goes beyond «Where do you see yourself in five years?»
The logic behind this
type of interview is to evaluate the individual's future performance
based on his past behaviour.
We will craft 12 - 15 questions
