our basic obedience test.

Those that pass temperament
tests are schooled at the campus by professional civilian trainers and spend several months learning
basic obedience and commands.
It is fair to say that almost any other canine activity (such as hunt
tests, field trials, agility, flyball, frisbee, and freestyle
obedience) requires the dog to first understand communication with its handler through
basic obedience commands.
The
basic obedience exercises will be taught in greater detail to prepare your dog for the Canine Good Citizen
test.
Any instructor teaching
basic obedience classes should at least be familiar with the
test and should encourage pet owners to certify their dogs.
After learning
basic skills such as
obedience and proper behavior in public places, the service dogs are
tested to determine how they will be trained further and eventually placed.
The dogs must not show signs of aggression or extreme shyness and demonstrate
basic obedience skills Owners must provide a brush or comb for the «appearance and grooming» part of the CGC
test.
Space permitting, the CGC
test is also offered to students who have completed at least 8 - 10 weeks of
