I've been wanting to try this sort of skirt for my mother, but I wasn't sure this could actually be that simple... Moreover,
a basic skirt pattern is always welcome, and I'd rather tend to think that a dirndl fits better on a Tinkerbell figure than, as an example, a circle skirt (plus it seems easier to hem!)

basic skirt pattern and the look of it completely depends on the fabrics you choose.

I haven't bought the V1247
pattern, but added pockets to the
basic skirt after getting the idea from Vacuuming the Lawn.
You can pick out a small color featured in the scarf and use it to tie another element together (such as if you went with a dark green
skirt here instead of a simple navy one), to help you decide what color shoes to wear (you could easily go with beige heels with these light colors, but I pulled out the black in the scarf to go with
basic black pumps), or even start to play with
patterns, such as if we'd mixed a pinstriped
skirt with the floral scarf.
Begin with
basics, some asymmetrical
skirts in
patterns or solid colors are a perfect staple which can fulfill your daily needs, from office to parties.
I picked white, black and navy as my neutrals, making sure I had
basic pieces in these colours (dresses, shorts,
skirts) and then added bright pink and electric blue as accent colours (shoes, scarves, purse, jewlery — or they played a role in the fabric
patterns of my clothes... Oh and I may have had a pair of bright pink shorts in there too!)
