Some parents report that the changing table scratches easily when
baskets are
placed on the
shelves.
I like to give the cat a choice between low
places (
basket in a closet, blanket under a bed, cat tunnel, etc), medium
places (chair when pushed under a table, sofa back covered with a blanket, inbox
on a desk, etc) and high
places (perch
on upper window, closet
shelf, cat tree, etc).
For the
shelves, I
placed a brown
basket that holds cloth napkins
on top, a green pitcher I got from Marshall's a few years ago, pewter salt and pepper shakers, and a large white serving tray that was my mom's in the background.
All they needed was a makeover with my favorite spray paint, a handle added to the drawer and a
basket placed on the bottom
shelf.
You can tuck
baskets on shelves or under benches,
place woven trivets, placements or netting
on tables, put sticks in jars, put burlap or linen
on lampshades, use textured pillows
on sofas, hang natural wreaths, or decorate with whatever you have
on hand to bring a little more warmth, fill in some of the blank spaces and bring your winter home to life again!
