Each weapon has varying properties (range, clip size, rate of fire, etc.), and both weapons and armour have common RPG
battle system properties, allowing the player to have things such as the ability to have the first attack in the battle, add ice or poison effects to your weapon, and so on.

battle system does away with hefty menu - browsing, switching it out for a snippy, occasionally frenetic - feeling active combat
system with layers of strategy that most closely resembles Tales, another Namco JRPG
property.
I personally play PM because Roy plays amazingly and he is my main, because it expands on the great
battle system set forward by Melee, breathes new life into uninspired characters, giving them unique
properties and canonical and fun moves.
A lot of weapons and other items in the game must be found (or crafted) and the
battle system becomes a bit more extensive as you explore the ability to re-enforce and alter the
properties of weapons and armor.
