The inventive paint mechanics seep through the entire game:
battles require item cards — called Battle Cards — to be powered up by colors, and completionists will feel compelled to fill in every colorless spot throughout the levels.

Battles in Memories of Celceta can be won by button mashing on Normal or Easy difficulty, but players will
require a ton of healing
items to pull this off.

Needless to say it's a very tough challenge that
requires more care in combat than ever before - both in choosing your
battles and retaining the few
items you have - so make sure you've at least sunk a few hours into the regular version of the game before even attempting.
The catch, however, is that there's no MP, most abilities
require a turn to recharge, and all
items are single use within
battle.
When starting up a new game, you can tinker with the settings for enemy strength, the number of
battles, health
item frequency, and the
required combo level to generate special moves.
Many of these
items, when used in
battle,
require the execution of some kind of action - command or mini-game to realize their full damage potential.
Boss
battles are used to better effect than expected — with players
requiring their most recently acquired
items to defeat them.
Completing the tests
required to increase Lydie and Suelle's atelier rank is quicker (and more efficient) since you'll be turning in fewer
items with higher quality, side quests are easier to complete since they often
require items with specific traits or qualities, and
battles will be easier because you'll have stronger
items and equipment.
