Yes, you would
be in ketosis doing the original Atkins diet, but for most people, that spartan plan would get boring quickly.
Remember everybody's different and even if you don't have any signs of being in ketosis it doesn't suggest that you are not.

'm smarter this time around:) it
's been 8 months on Sukan and 90 pounds later, I think the key
was making sure I
was in mild
ketosis (not moderate), drank plenty of water and I didn't stop using salt.
I
am more of a fan of a weekly cycle where you cycle out of
ketosis by eating more carbs or protein one day and then cycle back
in the next day with intermittent fasting or
doing a fat fast... where you don't consume carbs or protein for 24 hours or so.

am on a ketogenic diet from last 9 days but no change
in my weight.I also walk briskly for an hour on treadmill and cycle apart from some exercises.i take three meals
in d day comprising of eggs (2) and cottage cheese
in the morning with green tea with coconut milk, Red meat 2pieces or chicken with tomatoes or spinach cooked

Just recently I read an article Dr mercola wrote about
ketosis but he advised against
doing this diet while breastfeeding saying women need oxaloacetate, a compound essential for creating lactose
in breastmilk, which
is essential for baby's growth.
This pulls me out of
ketosis for a short period and then I enter right back
in the following day while I
am doing my morning fast.
But
in terms of dropping pounds, the primary advantage of a ketogenic diet
is that it doesn't leave you hungry, since it involves eating a good deal of satiating fats, and the state of
ketosis has
been shown to reduce appetite.
Well, I don't think God had an agenda when he created breastmilk because that
's what babies
are in, a
ketosis state if they
're breast - fed (if they
're formula fed, that
's a whole other issue).
If you
're doing a caloric restriction diet but blocking the effects of autophagy, then you
're going to keep yourself
in a semi-starvation state because your body will never switch into
ketosis.

I must say I
do not know a single woman of reproductive age who
is in ketosis and fasting every day and not suffering the effects of stress
in some sense (loss of her menstrual cycle, elevated cortisol and belly fat or other stubborn fat areas created by cortisol, acne, moody and on edge, disrupted sleep, hair loss, brittle nails, dry skin, heart arrhythmia, cold body temperature, fatigue).
That
being said, you don't need to
be in ketosis to lose weight, and having veggies will
do nothing but improve your results IMO.

do do some sweet potatoes and things
in the evening so I likely pull myself out of that so this
is something that this
is gonna depend on the person but you can touch

ketosis — you

A sweet potato doesn't «knock you out» of
ketosis for days; slipping back
in just happens because you
're so accustomed to it.
It
's important to understand that for most people I
do not recommend calorie - restricted
ketosis —
in which you simply cut calories to the point where your body has no choice but to dip into it
's own fat as a fuel.
As a dental hygienist I
do remember learning about the smell of breath
in ketosis — although I believe it
was more related to diabetic
ketosis.
Honestly I gave strict paleo and then lbs a go for months and my mood
was depressed, had low energy, Low libido, etc, becoming desperate I switched the safe starched with brown rice syrup and coconut sugar and immediately
in the short term I feel better... Mood
is so important and I don't think trading
ketosis for depression
is a good move...
This
is a bit of a great area - some experts recommend increasing carb intake and just keep your diet paleo / primal - you don't need to
be in ketosis all the time.

was in ketosis until the signs appeared: headache and cramps, which I took care of right away (salt and water) and have
been in ketosis now for 3 weeks very comfortably.
Cutting the intake of carbohydrate
does not necessarily mean that your body
is in ketosis state.
It doesn't even suggest that you aren't
in ketosis anymore, because it can't.

I never monitored Keytones before as I
was certain I
was in ketosis however this time around, I
'm doing everything I've don't
in the past, and yet I
'm slowly watching the scale creep up.
Soluble fiber may
be absorbed and therefore could affect
ketosis and blood glucose levels, while insoluble fiber simply passes through the GI tract unabsorbed... Dr. Steve Phinney and Dr. Jeff Volek recommend 50 or fewer grams of total carbohydrates per day on a LCKD and
do not mention fiber or net carbs
in this regard.

I would rather
be in nutritional
ketosis but I have to
do physical labor and need my muscles and I need to keep my water.
If you don't want to invest
in the equipment for this kind of testing, or if you aren't as concerned with tracking your ketones so closely, you can watch out for certain symptoms that indicate
ketosis: clearer mental state, more thirst, less hunger, more energy.

been doing keto for three months and lost 6 lbs
in the first few weeks, but nothing since (I've
been in ketosis the whole time) and I find I have no energy at all since starting and I can't exercise because I have very intense muscle fatigue even walking up the stairs.
All I want to
do is get into and stay
in ketosis, but it
's getting more complicated by the day.
If you measure your ketone levels (using ketostix), they may get quite high due to the lack of water but it doesn't mean you will
be in deeper
ketosis (ketostix
are not accurate).
