Giroud was always going to
be the main striker still, throwing Perez in when he's clearly not ready was unfair, having him try and forge an understanding with Ox and Theo so early in a big match was an iffy call.
Not exact matches
goodness i can't believe it people will
still defend him.You know something when Giroud misses many chances like at Monaco i did not criticize him even based on that you know why?its because he has always not
been clinical. The only way a team can improve
is by indentifying its problems and solving them.Arsenal has Giroud as the
main cf and Welbeck as backup to him.Giroud has done well scoring some goals some too important but collectively he does more harm than good.Do not use moments to judge a player judge him based on content.Giroud does not excel in many games than he excels in games. As a
main cf you need to
be consistent.I see people here saying Giroud can not dribble he cant do this he cant do that but its a bit crazy to criticize him for that because every player has his own style.Giroud limitations as a player costs arsenal and will cost us a lot. Most importantly his poor finishing which has cost us several times. Not good enough. His style of play
is ok for us but a
striker who can take on players and run behind defences very well would make us very strong and also should
be clinical. For Welbeck he needs to works on his finishing and composure by doing the basic things right. He rushes infront of goal too much. For now he
is just above average. However he can excel if he works on improving.Giroud and Welbeck will always
be a pain in arsenal's neck for most part. Some will call me stupid but hey at least i want to analyze the problem.People may support Giroud or Welbeck to lead the line next season but as the saying goes if you fool me once shame on you but if you fool me twice shame on me.Will you let Giroud and Welbeck fool you again?
Playing with 10 men and specially when your
main striker is sent off at stamford bridge and
still qualify for QF.
now add ManU, I don't even know if Martial or Rooney
is their
main striker... Liverpool??? We
are close to City in that we can
still at least spread the goals If there
is really a top top
striker available, u'd expect Man U / Man city to swoop him
I even thought top clubs
were in for him. Some three or 2 seasons back many here
were debating why he should
be our
main striker. As soon as you mention any other
strikers name people would come out with stats and many things defending him.Even Wenger has defended him blindly in the past.People say Wenger
's stubborn yeah. But don't we know that there
's a reason why everything happens?Honestly speaking he
's the reason why Arsene Wenger has failed to sign a top notch
striker because he
still believes in him.The funny thing
is we signed Welbeck at that time who to me did nothing before to
be the
main man here.People keep saying Welbeck
is hardworking and that he works his socks off.But the question
is was that our reason for signing him.Welbeck
being signed to challenge Giroud tells me a lot about Giroud
's quality.Even Walcott (no offence to him) who has zero CF qualities
was even chosen over him for a string of games and all in all I think he did well but has too many defeciencies for that role. We've compromised as a club and it'll come back to bite us.
Though Theo has shown a glimpse of what he
's capable of as our
main striker, he can
still give the majority of that playing as an inside forward on the right.
Surely our
main striker is still Giroud.
It
's officially August and we
still have made only 1 key signing... I HOPE wenger does spend more money and get the
striker we need and DM... DM6 there
are still a few out there that we can get either Bender brother recently
been liked with Busquets but my
main concern
is the
striker out targets have all said they
are staying at their current clubs....
@Goonster, you
are absolutely correct my friend, what we see as the priorities
are not Wengers priorities, we see this season after season with Ozil
being probably the worst case, we all know a
striker and a dm
were more urgently needed. Some will say Wenger knows best but clearly he doesn't because our progress
is so slow we appear to
be standing
still.Sanchez came in did well, but we
still finished further away than last year.An Giroud
still doesn't have any real competition upfront, im not a believer in Walcott as a
main striker, if we do get a top
striker like a Benzema it will most likely
be a last minute deal after every1 has made their moves
Man City
are still without their
main striker Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko as well and they might not even
be back in time to face Arsenal on January 18th.
We have ONLY one
main striker and if he
's not in the form that he should
be (because he
's not the
striker we need to win the PL) then we have no one who can really seek out the oppositions net, The last two games we have
been mediocre at best Im
still NOT convinced that Wenger
still has the magic he once had despite a massive improvement in form
So when you see links to mediocre / washed up
strikers link Bony
be afraid
be very afraid as wenger can say he made the purchase in the position we asked for whilst
still keeping Giroud as his
main man!
Still Alexis and Theo seem to
be our
main strikers so far and they'll
be key in our title charge.
Although Giroud
is generally
still considered as the club's
main striker (with Alexis primarily a converted winger), Welbeck also has to battle against the re-positioned Alexis, the competition from Lucas Perez and of course the form of Theo Walcott and Alex Iwobi on the wings.
If Wenger
still believes that Welbeck can
be our
main striker one day, he should loan him out to a mid-table team, where he can as much as he
's able to, and build up routine and confidence.
Off topic we have Welbeck the
striker that never score and some Arsenal fans
still think he
's a good but because he works hard no he
's a flipping
striker his
main objective
is to score goals, Giroud without having half the pace Welbeck has will always
be a better
striker than Welbeck and the sad thing about buying Welbeck
is that I don't see another
striker coming in until Wenger leaves.
Still do not think we should
be relying on Alexis to
be our
main striker for the majority of the season.
You'd really have to ask yourself if he'd
still be here if he wasn't French.Wenger has every right to sell Giroud. If we
were very ambitious we would've sold him long ago.We
're treating him as if he
's a crucial player.The lesson will only
be learnt when Lacazette goes out with a long term injury. We will then see how good the back ups are.To me he
's not a super sub as he
's the kind of
striker who requires service.Being a super sub
is not enough because remember he
's the next in line if anything happens to Lacazette.Giroud
was Arsenal
's main striker for a reason.Last season 99 % of the matches he scored coming of the bench
were matches he should have started to give us that aerial presence but Wenger shockingly started Sanchez. It
's a shame fans will blame him next season again for his short comings. The guy
is just not good.It
's not good enough to
be strong in aerial battles alone and weak in almost every other aspect.I expect Arsenal and Arsene to do better. He must
be sold.
A club with ambition wouldn't have OG as our
main striker, only at Arsenal you'll find the manager, and most of his players to
be so incompetent and lack ambition, and
still don't feel any shame
Ospina has
been less prone of real threat after coq playing as DM and Kos
being back from injury, while our defense
was just sh $ t in the beginning of season and hence Szczesny got exposed... I
still see Szczesny
being a top class keeper and I think he need a loan spell somewhere (just like chelsea did to courtois) he gets less pressure (from fans)... Let Cech
be our
main GK (you can't deny his talent above all our GK's) and Ospina as backup GK... But before the GK and even before the DM, we need WC
striker, please don't tell me they
are not available
don't think people wanted him to
be no. 1 when the transfer window
was still open, people had no choice after Wenger says we have enough quality to win the league, and OG
is the only
main striker, and the transfer window closes with no panic buys
It
still begs the question that if this
is the
main issue would he not suit a change of formation perhaps playing off another
striker?
Walcott
is still 28 years old and Giroud
is France's
main striker.
Despite not having European football this season the youngster, who impressed against Rovers out of position just behind the
main striker, believes that cups
are still on offer for the Blues.
