I love how this
hummus uses peanut butter because you basically just need the garbanzo
beans since everyone should have all the ingredients
on hand!
Same goes for
beans — chickpeas, white
beans, kidney
beans, black
beans — there's always a chance I want to throw together a quick lentil chili or a batch of homemade
hummus, so I can always count
on them being in my pantry.
It had some
beans, falafel, mushrooms, chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice and spices
on top of a big bowl of
hummus.
Instead, I always try to have carrots and bell peppers
on hand that I can eat with white
bean hummus (my favorite)!!

This was a mish - mash of a few of the different salads available - Kamut berry,
bean & raw golden and candy cane beetroot, buckwheat salad, beetroot
hummus, leafy greens and rye bread and extra
hummus on the side.
I thought I had bought a can of garbanzo
beans on my last trip to the grocery store, which I use for making
hummus, but discovered instead that I had mistakenly bought a can of cannellini
beans!
Another twist
on hummus: I once saw a recipe in the NY Times Sunday magazine for edamame «
hummus», where soy
beans were substituted for chickpeas and rice vinegar was added.
I didn't know the
beans had skins
on them but had never made homemade
hummus before.
Get creative by using your favorite flavor of
hummus, switching up the roasted
beans and use a dressing you already have
on hand!

By keeping a can of garbanzo

on a rampage with dips!
For dried garbanzo
beans, I usually cook for 45 minutes
on a medium flame and let sit covered for 2 hours before making the
hummus.
Never heard of black
bean hummus, but I've recently started a new appreciation for black
beans so this is now
on my «must try» list.
