I had never heard of vanilla
bean paste before and never seen any in grocery stores.
I haven't used vanilla
bean paste before so I'm not too sure what the consistency is like but I imagine the powder is to much smoother and would stop it getting granuley.

Before the meringue reaches stiff peaks, you can mix in a few drops of
paste food coloring or some vanilla

before christmas, except I just used a hint of vanilla
