Made the bread tonight as per the
recipe book «ml» and «g» measurements, and subbed
in walnuts for almonds because that's what I had — Just testing a slice covered
in my home made walnut and kidney
bean spread... Yummy Think I need a touch more salt but I'm always a bit worried about over seasoning... I used mixed herbs but think I would love to add some garlic (powder maybe) next time, and use selected herbs rather than the commercial mix.
Cannellini
beans are slightly softer than chickpeas so they tend to blend more easily but I think chickpeas should work fine
in this
recipe.
Do you have an advice for me how much chickpeas (or

recipes) I should take if I use the dried ones?

beans in there instead!

in different ways to complement other
recipes — so just keep that
in mind if you go to print this
recipe out.
Although I eliminated the
beans in this
recipe, all the hearty vegetables add the filling volume our hungry bellies want and need.
Any good - quality canned white
beans will work
in this
recipe.

I always forget about using black
beans in chili until I get reminded by wonderful looking
recipes like this.
With a house full of newly dug potatoes, courgettes and broad
beans, I took inspiration from a Nigella
recipe for Summer Minestrone
in the September 2004 issue of Delicious.
I did this to see the SP value without toppings and I believe it is 2SP per cup because the only things
in the
recipe with points are the
beans, corn, and oil if you use any to saute your vegetables.

But if you don't blind bake it correctly — aka weighted down with
beans that none of the
recipes I tried suggested I do —
in a mere 15 minutes of baking, it has the potential to shrink like a shy little flower and come out looking like the pie crust below.
While amounts have been specified
in the
recipe, adding extra tomatoes,
beans or peppers will allow this dish to stretch to feed more people.

Next time I will mash an extra cup of

But then I came across this
recipe, and just added the garlic,
beans, tomatoes, sherry, and cumin — the onion was already
in there — and it transformed my former bland dessert soup into a much more exciting soup with a southwest flair.
