I'm sure Eden canned
beans use kombu too...

beans with plenty of water, add garlic, bay leaves and
kombu, if
using, and bring to a boil, covered.
Also, since I
use Eden Organics (no salt — just
kombu, I think — and BPA - free lining), should I still rinse the
beans?
The HSUS suggests
using 3 cups of cooked canned
beans instead of dried
beans, and eliminating the
kombu, bay leaves and 1 teaspoon of the salt.
I prefer to
use dry
beans and cook them myself with a strip of
kombu seaweed.
