because of tongue tie.

because of her baby.
I thought the pain and bleeding was all
because of my bad latch, but it was
because my baby was
tongue -
tied.
Reflux in babies can sometimes be undiagnosed lip and / or
tongue ties — many similar symptoms, and
because so many providers aren't well - versed in
ties, they get a diagnosis
of reflux.
You see similar behavior in babies who are
tongue tied so, again if you feel like nursing is difficult
because of this behavior and what you're experiencing in your body I would say see a lactation consultant just to look at your baby's
tongue, watch how you guys are nursing so she can help you evaluate what the problem is
I found out in retrospect that I was actually
because of my oversupply that he was able to gain in spite
of the
tongue -
tie because it basically would just gush into his mouth and he didn't have to do much work.
Now whilst I will not deny that nipple shields do provide some relief (I used them with my second daughter when she couldn't latch properly
because of an unknown
tongue tie) they bring with them a lot
of negatives.

MOLLY RIFFEL: Well I, like you were saying Kathy had problems with my daughter's latching, she was
tongue tied we had issues it was painful with my first one and so I actually knew this was going to happen I have a taste
of depression so I beforehand set up to have my placenta encapsulated and so my first step was to start taking that and then once I was home and comfortable and was doing that I actually started going to Robin's support groups and that made the biggest impact ever
because I was able to sit and talk to other moms who were experiencing the same thing.

because my daughter was born with her
tongue tied and she had that her frenulum clipped and we were having lots and lots
of issues breastfeeding even after that clipping had taken place.
But
because tongue tie is the root cause
of the problem for a minority
of babies, it is a terrible place for most mothers to start.
The reason I'm being just a bit sarcastic is
because there are plenty
of health care professionals out there who do not «believe in» freeing a
tongue tied baby's
tongue «just» so he can breastfeed.

of the mothers have had poor breastfeeding management — their babies can not breastfeed well

tied, and their mothers pump and supplement with their own milk using an SNS or Lact - Aid.
Before the birth
