It took like four coats to look decent and even then I don't think I ever got
the bed rail against the wall painted.

If you are not comfortable having baby sleep your
bed, consider the sidecar arrangement with the crib edged up
against the side of your
bed and the
railing on the
bed side taken down.
Before laying the baby down, have the
bed prepared... so that the babies head is
against the bumper or a rolled up blanket so it's head doesn't get cold... and if the
bed is cold use a fussy blanket on top of the sheet (tucked into the
railing of course) to make it a bit softer & warmer 6.
The twin
bed should be pushed
against the wall, with a
bed rail on the outside.
Then when # 3 DD was on her way, we stood the king single mattress up
against the wall, pushed the queen
bed against it, got rid of the «big cot»
rails and bought a fire - engine bunk
bed with solid «walls».
:) I have seen several mothers take 1
rail off their crib, put the mattress at the same level as their
bed, and push it up
against their
bed.
Place the headboard flush
against the wall and leave ample space on both sides of the
bed (or install
rails on both sides) to limit the risk that your child could get trapped between the
bed and the wall.
Your child can't hurt himself if he comes in contact with the
railing, but he can suffocate in bumpers (or any excess
bedding) if he nestles his face up
against it.
