Just to address your question about going to bed
at «parent»
times — I simply put my child down to sleep
at his
normal time, then leave and come back later
at my
bedtime — just as I would if he were in his own bed.
Keeping the 8 pm
bedtime after the nap has been dropped will not help to make up for the lost nap sleep as the child will likely still wake up
at their
normal 6 am wake
time.
Also, when I land
at what is typically my
bedtime I will not just be five hours behind my
normal time zone but also it will still be light outside.
I know from the
time stamp it looked like a
normal (on the early side)
bedtime when I wrote, but it actually being about 3:30 a.m. local
time, I wasn't really
at my best.
