The most enjoyable and productive times I have experienced are when I have
been in the classroom observing teachers and interacting with students and teachers.
What do leaders notice and wonder about teaching and learning when
they are in classrooms observing instruction?
The Classroom Comes First — The most important way a school leader can spend their time
is in the classroom observing teachers and having conversations with them about student learning.

Walking through our halls, several
classrooms styles
are observed: traditional, students gathered around tables, desks forming a large circle, and desks
in clumps.

Too often, the great things that

classroom can rattle any teacher's nerves.
Student performance on state standardized tests has see - sawed, but what my gut tells me and from what I
observed in multiple
classrooms, learning engagement and retention
are improving significantly.
