I have to admit,
before we painted our Kitchen cabinets white (catch up on that journey here and here) I did a lot of research on the type of paint, sprayer and the process of painting.
It's not mandatory, but I'd suggest at least a light sanding
before painting kitchen cupboards.

I own a relatively new fourplex that hasn't needed really any maintenance work but I'm hopefully closing on 2 single family houses on March 8 that will need some work
before renting them out (structural assessment / reinforcement from beneath the house,
kitchen remodels,
painting, decks, Windows, fencing, landscaping).
I knew that I had to gingerly explain what the problem was

kitchen cupboard doors;
paint peeling off of the bathroom ceilings and walls; mold growing in the showers; windows constantly sweating; fillings rusting in their mouths... just kidding!).

Just yesterday I was thinking I should spruce things up with new

The previous owners of our house renovated the
kitchen before and they did a nice job but the cabinets are dark wood... they are actually pretty nice, they have a glaze and everything, but all I want to do is
paint them and change the little tiled backsplash to a handmade subway tile... Oh well:) Watching your house progress is so fun!
Your

I'm about to pull everything out of my living, dining and

I recycled old
kitchen cabinets and cupboard from our
kitchen remodel years
before and
painted them blue and replaced the knobs.
Good news is my painters will return Tuesday to
paint the cabinet in the
kitchen and finish filling (caulking) and
painting the rest of the wainscoting through the entry over the next week (we didn't have enough time to
paint all that wainscoting
before the holidays!).
While most of my cabinets were finally
painted right
before Christmas (along with my family room walls and trim and part of the horizontal planking in my little hall) my one «open cabinet» in the
kitchen was not able to be
painted as it had to have some finishing work done on the inside of it first.
A major thank you goes to my brother from Missouri who chose to use his two weeks of take - it -

kitchen drawers with the
paint colors listed on it.
I have such a list of projects I want to accomplish, like yesterday... but if I HAD to focus on one to get done
before the holidays, I guess it would be
painting the
kitchen including the trim.
I'm wondering if you used a degreaser on your
kitchen floors to clean them
before applying any
paint.
What was I thinking??? I do try to blame it on the fact that the
paint samples at Lowes are being discovered in florouscent lighting and we all know how wrongly colors are interpretted in such lighting, if only I had taken that into account
before hastily picking out
kitchen colors.
A neutral
paint will transform a
kitchen scheme, making it far lighter and brighter than
before.

My hubs is 61 — I am 58 and we still go strong on DIY — and we still make boo - boos — last year, we were redoing (or should I say the hubs was redoing) the floor tile in our 2nd bathroom — the crazy nut tiled himself into the tub — I was in the
kitchen painting the texture he had just a couple of days
before put on the walls (had wallpaper on it
before) and I hear this feeble «Honey, can you go outside on the side of the house and get that tile from the ground under the window»... I went into the bathroom, saw him standing in the tub, and he explained that he got mad and threw the tile out the open window.
