Just one small question
before I make them, can you
use a hand blender instead of a
food processor?
First, you need to
use a
food processor to blend the ingredients, and second, the patties need to chill in the fridge for a bit
before you cook them (that key tip is from America's Test Kitchen via The Frugal Girl).
If not
using a
food processor, whisk together the dry ingredients
before adding the oil, eggs and egg yolks, and mix to combine well.
Her
Food Processor didn't work, and the Blender was a pain, especially for the Pecans: (Ended up chopping by hand and saying to myself «What did they do
before Food Processors,
used a knife of course».....
I
used a blender to blend the ingredients though because my
food processor [cuisinart 14 cup] was giving me quite a chunky batter and this was
before the banana and almond pulp.
I
used purple diakon and black radishes with a few carrots added along with several cloves of garlic — all put through
food processor for shredding and then sprinkled with salt and massaged
before pressing into jars to ferment — yum!
Turn off heat and allow mix to cool a bit / Purée mixture in
food processor, in small batches in the blender, or
use an immersion blender in the sauce pan / Purée until smooth and silky / Add a little more water or stock if needed to achieve desired consistency / Taste and adjust seasoning / Optional — stir in cream and a little more butter

An hour
before baking the farinata, shred the zucchini (hand grate or
use a
food processor), place in a colander or sieve and sprinkle with a little salt, to help drain the zucchini of excess water.
Adjust heat to slow simmer and cook uncovered until carrots and apple are tender, about 30 minutes / Turn off heat and allow mix to cool a bit / Purée mixture in
food processor, in small batches in the blender, or

I
used a stone mortar and pestle for making pesto and it really brings out the flavor
before sending it into the
food processor.
I
use it instead of rice as well — grind it up in the
food processor before cooking.
I did make a few modifications to suit the amount of time I had and what I had on hand (I
used jarred roasted red peppers instead of roasting my own (there were about 3 large peppers in the jar), I toasted the walnuts lightly in a dry skillet
before putting them in the
food processor, I
used honey instead of pomegranate molasses because I couldn't find the latter, and I
used 2 tbsp dried parsley instead of 1/4 cup fresh).
If
using a
food processor, chop the garlic and ginger
before adding the wet ingredients.
To ensure your cashew spread isn't grainy, either soak your cashews for 6 - 12 hours
before using, or grind them in a
food processor to a powder.
If you want to grate the zucchini
before you add it to the
food processor, simply
use a regular handheld grater to make 1 1/2 cups of grated zucchini, which equals the 8 ounces called for in the recipe, then stir the zucchini into the batter.
I keep forgetting to make overnight oats the night
before, but I'm eating something right now I think you would like: in a coffee grinder or mini (or regular)
food processor, combine 1 T (or less) of nuts of seeds of choice (I
use pumpkin seeds, brazil nuts (2 - 3), sunflower seeds, walnuts, cashews, hemp) and blend for 30 secs until consistency is like coarse sand.
If it's not a technique you've
used before, don't worry — tofu grates easily and can also be popped into the
food processor and pulsed a few times if you'd prefer.
(You can also do this
using a
food processor, but allow the soup to cool further
before blending.)
I usually just shred my pumpkin in a

food processor, or at the very least chopping the fruit and vegetables up
before blending to ensure an even blend.
Using these seeds in your diet is extremely easy and you can just mash them up in a
food processor before sprinkling them into your serial, mixing the oil into your smoothies or salad dressing or adding them into a variety of other dishes.
Cauliflower pizza crust starts with
using the
food processor to make cauliflower rice, cooking (most recipes call for the microwave for this step), wringing it dry in a kitchen towel, and then mixing with egg and seasoning
before flattening onto a pizza stone and baking.
You can do this by adding the oatmeal into the blender first and blending it a little
before adding the other ingredients, or
using a spice grinder or
food processor to make it finer.
My girls had never
used the
food processor before and their favorite part of the day seemed to be pushing the buttons for me (I love it when my kids are that easy to entertain)!
«It's like someone took my heart out, put it in a
food processor, turned it on, then put the shredded remains back in my chest, only they forgot that
before they put my heart in the
food processor they had been
using it to dice spicy jalapeños, and so some of the jalapeño seeds are mixed up with my shredded heart, and so it burns, in addition to hurting because, you know, it's been shredded.
