services and supports to address challenging behavior and support early social and emotional competence: A model of early childhood mental
health consultation to reduce the rate of preschool expulsion; how child care professionals and parents can have useful conversations around sensitive
behavioral issues; an approach to coaching early educators to prevent and manage challenging behavior in the classroom; a parent — infant play group to build parenting skills; the treatment of common sleep issues; and a program of support to strengthen military families when a parent returns from deployment.
This brief highlights many notable and emerging successes of grantees in expanding and sustaining
services for children and families in the five core Project LAUNCH strategies (screening and assessment; enhanced home visiting through increased focus on social and emotional well - being; mental
health consultation in early care and education programs; family strengthening and parent skills training; and integration of
behavioral health into primary care settings).
Communities will focus their efforts around five key strands of work: 1) the integration of
behavioral health into primary care; 2) mental
health consultation in early care and education settings; 3) enhanced home visiting
services; 4) family strengthening and parent education; and 5) screening and assessment.
His primary responsibilities included providing statewide
consultation and training on evidence - based interventions, positive behavior interventions and supports, functional
behavioral assessments, and individualized behavior intervention plans to education and mental
health professionals who provided a wide range of
services for families and children with emotional and
behavioral disabilities.
