The power / lock and
volume rocker keys will be placed on the right - hand side of this tablet, while you'll notice a physical home
key is located
below the display, which is placed in - between two capacitive
keys.
The right is also home to a circular power button placed in the center, bearing a machined metal finish quite similar to the one on the Xperia Z.
Below it is the
volume rocker, and a new addition — a dedicated shutter release
key to complement that snapper.
The sides are relatively plain in best Moto tradition — the right has the
volume rocker, just
below which is the slightly textured display / power
key, the top has the 3.5 mm audio jack and the base the micro USB port and a speaker grille.
The design similarities of the Idol 4 are carried over to the chamfered metal sides, with a rather unusual placement of the power / display button on the top left side and the presence of a round «customisable»
key in the middle of the right side, above which lies the
volume rocker, and
below which is the SIM and memory card slot.
Meanwhile, you're looking at a fairly standard port and button arrangement — a textured power
key and smooth
volume rocker on the right edge,
below the nano - SIM slot, and a microSD tray over on the left.
The sheer size of the Galaxy Note 3 means you'll be constantly shuffling it up and down your palm as you try and reach the
volume rocker and power / lock
keys located towards the top on the left and right sides of the handset and the menu
keys below the screen.
The
volume rocker on the left, and power switch on the right, are easy to hit during one handed operation, and I was also easily able to reach the physical home
key below the screen.
The
volume rocker sits just
below, again in an easy to reach position, while towards the base of the handset you'll find the dedicated shutter
key which provides a shortcut to the camera app as well as a way to snap pictures underwater.
Samsung has thankfully gone with a
volume rocker instead of individual
keys, and
below it there's a new button dedicated to its inchoate AI assistant, which it calls Bixby.
The right side houses a
volume rocker and,
below it, a programmable convenience
key that can be assigned to anything except turning on and off the phone.

Talking about the ports placements, there is an inherent 3 elements
key on the right edge, housing the power button in the middle while the
volume rocker keys above and
below the power
key.

Along the right side
below the
volume rocker is the Boom
key — a multifunction button that houses a number of shortcuts, which you can reprogram via the Settings menu.
